The diameter with edge is 2.13 inches. The inside diameter is 1.92 inches. From the bottom to the top ledge in measures 0.3 inches Signed B.K.R Nice greenish brown color glaze. It is a rarer color to find. Providential Tile Works 1886- 1913 Joseph Kirkham. James H. Robinson, and C. Lewis Whitehead established this company in Trenton, NJ in 1886. Antique Vintage ceramic tile set of 4 Golden brown color
We purchased these tiles from a local antique dealer. He had purchased a piece of furniture that had tile inset into the back splash and these are four of the six tile.the other two were broken so he removed these and sold them to us. We were not able to find the ideal place to use the tile in our house and so now need to find them a"new home" These tiles measure 6 x 6 x 1/2 inches. Please look closely at the photos and read the condition issues. These are over 100years old. They have many fine lines of crazing. Some flea bites along their edges, and a strange blue color that is under the glaze. They were originally set in a line so that the roping"vine" flowed from one tile to the next. There is a raised"dot" pattern along the top border and an"egg and dart" pattern along the bottom border. The color ... moreis a warm, golden mottled brown in three tile and a darker brown in one. The backs of each tile have some of the ceramic material missing- this is where the antique dealer"pried" them loose. There is no name or marking on the backs so I do not know where these originated. Please be aware that these tile are 1/2 inch thick. Today's tiles are much thinner so if you want to incorporate these into a bath or kitchen wall. The tiler needs to plan accordingly. Tops washed and inspected for chips and firing imperfections. There are some with a little dirt, glue, paper or discoloration on back from the cardboard or paper liners but no damage to the front. This lot is for(10) 1" x 1"BROWN SPECKLE tile. Actual tile size is a little SMALLER than 1" to allow for groat. This tile was part of a mosaic floor square. Tiles were removed off paper liner. Here is an old Spanish Tile from the factory Mensaque Rodriguez in Triana Sevilla. It is a square tile. Measuring 5-3/8" on each side and approx. 7/8" thick. To me, the design looks like a face or mask above(perhaps) an urn, with wings at each side. The design is in brown, green, and blue. Very colorful and the colors look very vibrant to me. The back of the tile is marked"RODRIGUEZ Y CIA. SA, TRIANA- SEVILLA" There is a place where the word"Mensaque" was but that word, and the"G" in Rodriguez, have been worn off; some of the other letters are legible but show some wear as well. This old tile has edge and corner wear. No crack or significant chips noted. I have taken a lot of large. Hopi Decorative Tile by Sadie Adams(Flower Girl. Flower Woman) Hopi-Tewa artisan who lived from 1905 to 1995. 3 inches by 5 inches. Rectangular, and approximately 1/8 inch thick. 1920 to 1995. There is a bit of the"fire clouds" effect on the bottom of the piece. Which would have occurred inadvertently during the firing with sheep dung. The tile is made of yellow clay and painted with brown and black pigments. There is a flower painted on the bottom in brown paint(the artist's mark? There is some writing in pencil on the bottom that was put there by the person who had this piece previous to my having it. To remind her when and from whom she purchased the piece; it indicates that she bought it from Jane Bell in the 1950's, but she doesn't remember who or where Jane Bell was. There are no defects or damage to this tile. ... moreOnly irregularities that occurred during its creation which add character; you can see that it was built by hand and there are several indentations that were left during the making of it. Vintage 19th Century sepia(brown) toned etching of Rodez Cathedral in France. Part of Minton's Historical Series. Clearly marked on reverse: Stoke Upon Trent. Mintons China Works, Waldbroch, London. Tile depicts a cobblestone street scene with several people shopping about. One hay cart with several workers stands in front of pitched roof storefronts. Behind them is the monumental Rodez Cathedral. A national monument of France. Tile measures 6 x 6 inches. And with frame 8 x 8 inches. The tile was originally covered with maroon felt(material) to protect it in the frame. Along with this tile is an ill-fitting wooden frame made in Mexico. The tile itself is in good condition with only a few small nicks at edges, and a few barely visible scratches at the edges. No cracking of glaze(crazing) and no attempts at restoration. Staffordshire England ~ This large Victorian aesthetic 6" x 6"tile is transfer printed in dark brown with hand painting under glaze in deep shades of green. Brown and golden yellow. The clear and crisp pattern features wonderful geometric designs along the border and a central image of an exciting blooming Calla Lily in all its glory. Interesting heart shaped foliage. This tile has“J 12309” embossed on the back and the base material is brown. There is some wear to it and crazing of the glaze but it is in generally good shape. Antique turn of the century art tile made by the Old Bridge tile company of Old Bridge. New Jersey. Marked on the back. Measures 3" x 3" x 0.5" thick. The heyday of high glaze American Pottery Art Tiles was from the 1870's through the 1910's. New Jersey was a big player.With large manufacturers such as Trent,Providential and Old Bridge. A combination of the arts and crafts movement,the great depression and eventually WWII, spelled doom for most of the tile makers that sprung up in Victorian days. Here we have fleur de Lis set on a 45° angle in a baby blue and light brown glaze. A small right edge chip and a tiny flea bite to the top of the flleur.Beautiful 100yr old tile! Possibly Made by" MOSAIC" and made in USA based on elements and design but no markings found. 6 1/8 inches by 6 1/8inches by about 1/2 inches in overall thickness weighing 404 grams net. In very good to excellent vintage as shown condition with 4 minor pin size scuffs/ flakes on the bottom 4 corner edges and 3 original linear discolorations at the top edge all of which are original and under glaze. Felt pas remains on one of the legs and one of the legs shows what appears to be few flakes/ small chips which again upon close examination under magnification seem to be under glaze therefore original to the piece.
