This hall tree was refinished by the previous owner, and they did a really nice job. They strengthened the back of the mirror with support sticks as shown in the photos, too. It is tight and sturdy, scroll front legs, lift top seat, applied carving on the base and shapely mirror top. The overall size is 36 inches wide on the outside of the arms, 29 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 17 inches deep, 18 inches high to the seat, 28 inches high to the arms and the overall height is 84 inches. Antique Big Victorian Bedroom Decor Furniture Dresser 1850 Mirror Brush Set
Hello- This is a very special True Victorian Hairbrush Mirror from at the LATEST 1850! The Amber-Yellow glass indicates this. And is never reproduced. When looking into the Etched Amber Glass, Your face is surrounded by the flowers just like my camera is if you can imagine, and your face has an amber glow. I placed it on the 50's mirror so that you can see the difference in the glass's. The big round mirror is part of the set. The Victorian Curling is genuine, I'm not positive of it's age, But these were used even into the 1920's. The brush measures approx. 10" long x 3 1/3" at the widest. And has a wooden brush area to hold the bristles. The metal is a bit tarnished from age, a magnet does not stick to it and I don't know what kind of metal it is. There is some loss to the etching of the flowers, but not ... moretoo much and is still in wonderful condition. The curling iron is approx. 10" long. With a thin crimping rod for"pin curl" size curls. The round mirror has some tarnishing from age. A magnet does not stick to it. The mirror measures approx. 12" long x 9" at the widest. This is the apron f rom an antique table that was about 68"X48" It was an oval table. So some of these are more curved since they were on the ends and the straighter ones were the sides. They are mortise and tenon. One piece has a n edge that is broken off near the end on the back. Please look over pictures) These are almost 6" wide at the widest and each piece is about 23"2 3.5" lo ng. these are r eally HEAVY! They will cost at lea st $35. to ship. Maybe more! Description• Measurements: 18" wide x 11" tall x 14" deep Condition: Overall it is in great condition! There is some scuffing on the edges of the feet(as shown in the photo) and some use wear on the fabric near one edge. Everything looks to be original. The fabric/upholstery is GORGEOUS! I am not sure of the year or maker on this. But a good guess would be the last 1800s or early 1900s. The wood appears to have been hand carved. All items are stored in a smoke-free environment. All of the brass hardware. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made. The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the highly sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of ... morehand rubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years. The photos show casters in the legs. This little chair was a copy of an adult's cane chair. And was a cherished one! It is made from bent wood, cane and wicker or reed. It may very well have been handcrafted, as I have never seen another like it. It measures 20" high. 19" wide, and 11-3/4" deep. At one time the seat wore through and was covered with a piece of corduroy, which has proven to be pretty sturdy stuff! It has some of the most unique construction I have seen, and looks like it may have been constructed of bits and pieces of what was handy or available at the time. Three of the legs have a metal tip, another thing that makes this chair different! Most of the chairs frame was wrapped in the ... morewicker, and over the years much of it has come off. The fabric shows age appropriate wear, but no rips or tears. The wood is in good condition with normal wear from usage, some sun fading. There is no major damage or repairs and no smells or odors. Biggs stopped making this chair by the late 1950’s. I believe this one to be from the late 1930’s. The"BIGGS" cloth label is attached to the underside area of the chair. This auction is for a wonderful antique corner what not shelf. It is Victorian. Was used to display fancy glassware etc. and from the mid to late 1800's. Made of a beautiful walnut, it is of a nice weight and is sturdy. It is about 60 inches tall. It is in very good condition for its age- it does have one piece of decorative trim that is missing on the upper left(see photos) This could be replaced or you could probably remove the decorative trim from both sides if you want to even it up. There is one small area of old scratches in the wood on the second to bottom shelf.see last picture) I consider this very minor. I believe it is the original finish and it is in great condition. Nice older pair of carved wood corbels. Brackets, or shelf holders or whatever. An unknown type of wood, but if I were guessing, I would say walnut, has that Eastlake look. Interesting pieces of carved wood. Almost 8" long, 2 7/8" wide, and 1 1/8" thick. Have holes in the back for pegs to hold this on whatever if came off of. Has no finish that I can tell. May have originally held a shelf on an old pump organ, dresser, or dining room piece, maybe even off an old mantle. Anyway, very nice.
