The wood is dark walnut and the mirror has Eastlake style spoon carvings on the corners and a half spindles on each side of the mirror. It has a squared off top that looks shelf like. The glass is in excellent condition with no fogging or discoloration. There are a few nicks and scuffs on the wood of the mirror but over all it is in great condition. The marble on the desk is in excellent condition. ... moreIt is light brown and has a smooth beveled edge. It still has some shine to it as well. The desk has 1 center drawer and it has dovetail craftsmanship with a brass pull. The legs are very curvy and come together to form a butterfly shape. The stretcher runs across the width of the table and is very curvy as well. Meeting the center of the legs on each side. The wood does show some signs of age and wear but this just adds to the character and patina of the entire set. The back upper corner has a small chunk missing but you cant even see it with the marbel top on. See pictures below. This is a very nice set, it is antique and will not be perfect. I do not know who the maker is or the exact date it was made. The mirror measures 46 ¼ inches tall, 25 3/8 inches side to side and 3 11/16 inches front to back. It weighs 20 pounds. The marble top measures 1 1/8 inches tall, 29 9/16 inches side to side and 19 3/8 inches front to back. The marble weighs 58 pounds. This is a very nice gold pier mirror that is in two sections. The top mirror part hangs on the wall and rests on the mable top base. Combined the piece measures approximatley 108 1/2" tall and 39 1/4" wide. The top mirror frame is 89 1/2" x 37" The mirror is 73 1/2" x 26 1/2" The mable is 39 1/4" x 14 1/2" and the base that it sits on is 38 1/2" wide x 17 3/4" deep. Gilded 10' Pier Mirror
This beautiful 10' tall pier mirror was purchased at auction from the Albania plantation on the Bayou Sarah in Southern Louisiana. This estate is rich in history and belonged to a close relative of the late governor. Huey Long at the time of the auction. The mirror dates back to the 1870's. It has had some extensive restoration but needs more. It's a fragile piece but stunning in a long hallway or foyer. The previous restoration work reveald gold leaf that had been coverd up by some other substance. It has a marble covered based. The New Orleans Conservation Guild featured the mirror in it's newsletter during it' restorative process because it was so unique and unusual. I was told to insure it for at least $15,000.00. This is an outstanding renaissance revival walnut pier mirror circa 1870. The pier mirror has its original finish which has aged to a wonderful patina. There are burled walnut veneer and gold guilt accents that add an impressive appearance to this stunning pier mirror. The pier mirror is one piece. It measures 108" tall. 42" wide at the top, 39 1/2" wide at the center, and 41" wide at the floor. It is 7" deep at the top and 16 1/2" deep at the center of the scalloped marble. The mirror itself is 74" tall and 31 1/2" wide. The base portion is 41" wide and 16 1/2" deep. The marble is 33" wide and 12 1/2" deep at the center. The mirror stands flush to the wall with no attachment to the wall although attaching it to the wall with a hook and wire like a frame could be done. This magnificent piece is a smooth edged fine walnut with gilded inside channel Late Victorian Pier Mirror done in a simplified Queen Anne Silhouette with two piece beveled glass. This mirror is grand. Measuring 56 inches tall by 24.5 inches wide, and weighs in at 35 pounds. It is in remarkable shape for its age, and has truly been cared for. The glass is original, high quality thick mirror glass with a beveled edge(beveling is always a sign of quality mirror work) The two pieces indicate that the glass was more than likely hand made and hand cut to shape in a limited size trough- the old fashioned way, when mirror was first being produced in larger sizes in 16th century Venice. Victorian Late 19th Century Pier Mirror
I have a Victorian late 19th century Renaissance Revival pier mirror. It stands 8 feet high 35 inches wide and 4 inches deep in the middle of the mirror. This wonderful mirror was designed to fit between two large windows. But can be used anywhere if you have the ceiling height. The mirror is in good shape with no cracks, which is good for its height. The frame around the mirror does need some restoration. There are some pieces missing as you can see in the photos. I have kept whatever has fallen off while it has been in my possession. The mirror has been painted gold, but from what I can see the mirror is gilded underneath the paint. Please bring 2 people to carry this mirror and a large vehicle to transport it. Thanks

Antique Victorian Pier Mirror Columns Original Finish Beveled Glass c1890's
A very nice piece of salvaged grandeur to add instant character to your home. The pier mirror has fluted. Gothic columns and a gorgeous, beveled mirror. It stands around eight feet high and five feet wide and is currently removed and safely stored in our house. The mirror is in very nice condition, but in full disclosure the mirror has some ghosting(no chips or cracks) and one of the columns has a couple missing curl pieces. The other column is 100% complete. The finish has a nice warm glow, which I find more attractive than the darker stain.but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Up for bids is this wonderful antique Victorian Pier Mirror or Hall Mirror. I believe it's from the Renaissance Period 1870s to 1890s. Very large size and heavy. Measures approximately 80" tall and 24" wide. At the widest point at the top crown. The side frame depth measures 2-3/4" but the top stands out approx. 8" It has inlay Burl wood and loads of Gold Gilt to the scroll work. The walnut finish is totally even in color. Some of the pics show it lighter towards the bottom. This is due to a spotlight shining on it so I could take descent photos of it. The backside has the wooden planks covering the mirror. I do not know if the mirror is original, it's in excellent condition. The marble base is missing. Description of item for sale: This classic gilt framed mirror is from France and it dates to the Second French Empire(Napoleon III) period of 1850-1870. The frame is a wood base with the fine decorations added in gesso and all finished in its original gilding. The frame is in good original antique condition. We can see minor repairs to the gesso. Especially a repair to the top of the crest and there are also small bits of gesso missing here and there and chips in the gilding. All of this is very typical in these old gilt frames. The glass is also hand cut and original but the mirror was re-silvered in 1974(dated on rear) The glass is undamaged and the silvering very good with very light spotting. Circa 1850-1860 Victorian Eastlake Style Pier Hall Mirror
With all the richness of the mid 1800's Victorian era. We have an Eastlake style pier hall mirror. The top of the mirror has Gothic style gingerbread trim in two rows. The top middle of the mirror frame has double ornamental upside down finial carvings. The frame detail includes low relief and incised line carvings commonly found in Eastlake style. The mirror is flanked by smooth columns that look marbleized in dark wood and black. The mirror has been loved and used. The wood columns. Believed to be walnut, are worn and scuffed. The top left cornice is off and needs to be re-attached. The bottom ledge that the mirror sits on is missing 3/4 of the ledge; the missing piece measures 1 1/2 X 17. The feet are connected with a cross frame piece that is carved in an egg and dart design. The frame is exquisite. It is all carved with only 4 overlay pieces. These pieces are located at each corner. They are carved shells and are a much lighter colored wood. I am not exactly certain as to the type of wood. It is finished in a medium to darker brown stain. The four shell overlays are a golden colored wood. The frame is in extremely nice condition with very few dings or scratches. It has been beautifully preserved. This ca. 1825-1845 solid mahogany tabernacle mirror features antique gilt accents. Ring turned half columns, and numerous acorn pendant finials. It measures 38 ¾” x 17 ¼” overall; 8 ¾” x 12 7/8” upper pane; 21 ¾” x 13” mirror. The varnished surface is absolutely original; some of the gilding has been over painted in the past. The mirror pane has very bad silver in the bottom quadrant and is missing a base block/plinth. The turned half column base has come off but is present. It retains the original chamfered thin pine back and double brass knob hanging array. We are offering this excellent Federal style mirror from the late 1890's. It is a stately 6 foot 3 inches long. This can be shipped by UPS or picked up. At my home, in NY 10956. We have an SUV so this can be delivered. To your home, if less than 30 miles from 10956, NY. A hall. mantle or pier mirror of figured flame mahogany on maple measuring an impressive 75" X 19" X 2" thick. It weighs 44 pounds unpacked and 59 pounds well crated for safe shipping. The 3” wide by 2" thick, Federal style, Ogee frame contains the original beveled glass that is in superb condition. This has been in our family since the 1920's. And was surely made decades earlier. Obviously, it has been well cared for and is quite useable for many more generations. It is simply too large for our current downsizing needs and we regretfully must part ... morewith it. We were told, by our grandparents, that this frame was part of a larger piece that was in our old family home in Pennsylvania. We cannot imagine what that piece must have measured as this mirror is over six feet. The solid and sturdy wood frame is in exemplary condition without any cracks or chips and all 4 corners are undamaged. Which is unusual and desirable for a piece this age. The fine beveled glass and silvering is excellent and this clear unfoged mirror is totally useable. We removed the thin wood sheet backing to photograph the glass back and frame, then replaced the backing. The mirror which appears to be the original gold dust mirror measures 39” in height and 17 ¼” in width. This very impressive Walnut Victorian Pier Mirror is graced with a plethora of exquisite details. The gorgeous center crown is adorned with scalloping across the top along with incised carvings. Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of cherry and is currently painted white. It was originally part of a built in armoire. The legs have fluted pilasters with turned columns above and carved corbels at the top The pediment has fish scale moldings. Applied carvings and a carved crown with nice finials. There are ornate brackets at the top of the opening. It measures 43 inches wide. 108 inches tall and is 5.25 inches thick at the pediment. The inside dimensions are 32 by 84. This would make a great door or window molding or you could put a mirror behind for a pier mirror. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. The brown marble on the shelf is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or stains. Under the marble there is one drawer for storage. The other measurements are 40 1/2 inches wide, 14 1/2 inches. The mirror itself is 89 inches tall and 31 inches wide, it is in very nice condition. The marble is 19 inches from the floor.
