Ring stains and there is a split in one of the boards. This hall tree is in fair condition, it is antique and will not be perfect. I do not know who the maker is or when it was made. It measures 73 ¼ inches tall, 23 ¾ inches side to side and 15 ½ inches front to back. It weighs 30 pounds. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested. There is a rectangle mirror at the top with a beveled edge. The mirror has some fogging and dark spots from age. The piece is open splat back style and the left side stile has a split at the top where it meets the back of the seat but it does not go all the way through the wood. The seat has some burn marks. This one-of-a-kind hall seat is made of solid oak with quarter sawn arms that end in hand carved lions' heads. It has claw feet and decorative carvings on the curved skirt and mirror surround. This auction is for a antique circa 1880. Its made of solid oak. There are 6 double cast iron hooks. Behind the top 2 there are japaned metal plates. Storage for hats& gloves under the seat. Umberella stand with a brass drip pan. This hall tree has some wonderful carving on it there are spade designs, round carved balls at the top and a rectangular carving in the middle. Antique 1900's Ball Stick Arts & Crafts Solid Oak Hall Tree Coat Rack Seat WOW!!
Up or auction is an INCREDIBLE antique late 1890's-1920's Arts& Crafts Ball& Stick solid oak hall tree. This is a wonderful example of ball and stick design. There are 5! beveled glass mirrors and wonderful carvings to go with the top. Middle and lower ball& stick galleries. So much work went into this. There is a hammered brass umbrella stand with barley twist bars to hold the tops. There are WONDERFUL Eastlake style coat hangers all present and matching. The are mounted to turned wood disks that float with sticks inside a wood frame. There is a real show piece hand carved oak detail of raised rectangles at the main center that is just incredible to think it was hand carved. Two matching sun ray designs are above and below the mirror. Lastly there is a wonderful little drawer below the seat with telling joinery that dates ... morethis to the machine age. The corner joints are routered pins and holes in half round circles(Anyone who knows the name of this joinery I would love to know) This piece measures 83" tall x 29" wide x 16" deep. It is not a huge piece. In fact I believe the top crown to have been added to give height to this piece. I only have a very slight color change to go by and VERY WELL may be wrong but perhaps the house this was going into needed a little more height. There are little flame points at the top and ball and stick with the square posts matching perfectly so it is an old addition if at all. You can see how it would look with out it as this comes right out of its four mount holes. This is a piece to see in person. I would never hold you to an auction for a piece of furniture that you only saw pictures of. Feel free to bid and if this piece isn't as incredible to you and I think it is.
