4 neat old coat rack hooks on a piece of ash wood. Looks like this has been refinished. As there is old paint on the back. Hooks are solid and secure in the wood. Not sure where these came from, either an old school house, or railroad. Each hook would stick out from the wood, 4 1/8 inches. Wood back measures 23 inches long and is 4 5/8 inches wide. This is a very fine solid oak hat stand that is handmade with no nails or fasteners. It measures 13" wide and is 7-3/4" deep. The holder portion is carefully crafted out of oak and is made from two solid pieces of wood that are joined at an angle in the center to create a simple yet elegant symmetrical appearance. There is an indented brim receiver that is attached to the main portion by two turned dowels that are flattened on the bottom that also has an extra protrusion to keep the hat from slipping off the stand. The fork is carefully and neatly mortised into its base and there are no tacks or nails. The inner diameter of the stand between the forks is 11" The stand retains its original finish and has a beautiful dark patina. Finish is nearly perfect. There are no chips or dings in the wood. It is made of oak which has been painted(a long time ago) in an off white or antique white. It features a long center column which is in a French or Barley Twist turned design. The raised base features 4 long legs and horse hoof feet. The legs and feet are all in one piece. The top of the tree has a ball finial with turned wood design below. There are 4 brass double hooks for hanging multiple items such as coats and hats. Scarves, etc. This is a very nice hall tree with beautiful and graceful lines. An American Indian to the far right, the world/globe at the bottom and I think a woman at the top who may represent Liberty. I am guessing this represents Columbus discovery of America. This measures 25 x 25, is probably pot metal with a bronze wash, as a magnet does stick to it( indicating it is metal, not bronze or brass) the two hooks on the opposite corners have an S in the middle, while the one at the base has a heart. See the heart? very sweet. Maybe the wife told her husband to hang his hat at night on the heart hook. On the back of this is simple paper and a silk cord. Vintage brass estate hall tree hat rack Masonic Lodge Offered is a vintage old hat rack I picked up an old Masonic lodge. This ornate tree stand is made of brass and metal base. The unusual item was sold as part of an estate with a mix of relics from the loge and personal items. Not sure of the origin but it looked pretty cool. Stands 6 feet tall and is comprised of two spheres on a stand with a third decorative ball near the bottom. The top globe is approximately 24 inches around. 6 hooks are fastened to the globe. I believe this is all brass. The bottom sphere is smaller with three hooks. There is a modern screw holding the stem otherwise all other items look fairy old. Features four iron double hooks-the kind that will hold a hat above and a coat below; these hooks were originally painted a gold-brass color but have aged to a distressed finish. The style is somewhat Mission/Arts& Crafts-very simple in design; it looks like oak wood. But I am no expert so I can't say for sure-please refer to photos to judge. Condition is pretty much as it appears in photos. It is old; as its handcrafted it is somewhat primitive and is unfinished on undersides that don't show. Antique coat or towel rack with three swinging arms. Made of solid brass which is nickel silver plated. Wall mount bracket is 3 5/8" tall. The arms have graduated lengths, with the longest hook extending about 9" from the wall. Usable length of the individual arms are about 6" 6 1/2" and 7" Arms are very good. Mounting bracket has moderate scratching with brass peeking through in a few spots and it's a bit twisted(see next-to-last photo) so the plate doesn't fit perfectly flush. Still a very nice-looking old hanger that could be used for many things.

There are 3 pegs to hang your coat/hat and they actually screw into the corners. Under each peg is a little triangle of brass like mottled metal. The top corner has a little metal ball. Th string. To hang it up is positioned to have it hang as a triangle.which is really smart and cute too! The mirror is old, beveled and worn.It is all original and all adorable! This is an original antique bent wood wall hat and coat rack. It comes with it's original finish. It shows years of age and use. It could be refini shed if desired. The rack measures 25" in length and is 17" from the bottom of the hooks to the top. It comes out about 10" from the wall at the widest part of the hook s. The scre ws on the back are not original and one of the circular rings for hanging has been replaced. The third wooden hook is shaped just a little different ly th an the other ones. Koken Barber Coat and Hat Rack Arts and Crafts Antique Porcelain Enamel Base NR!
You have stumbled upon a rare find. My friend. This is a wonderful early 1900's example of a barber's coat rack made by Koken Companies Manufacturers St. Louis USA. This piece is in original condition and stands 75 inches tall and the width of the rack is 19 1/4 inches. As you can see, the hooks and metal banded frame are a nickle finish with Koken's unique pattern. The iron base is a heavy and beautiful white porcelain and on the under side has 830NA embossed and is 21 inches wide. The pole/shaft is made of a dark stained wood, not sure maybe walnut. Antique Hat and Coat Rack This auction listing is for an antique wooden expandable wall hat and coat rack. Rgere are 13 pegs that stick out from a folding/expanding wood slat system that can be screwed into a wall. The rack can be expanded to a comfortable 50" wide by 14" high and attached to a wall surface through provided drilled holes. The pegs are approximately 4" long with eight pegs having a rounded porcelain tip of about 3/8" wide while five pegs are missing the tips. The wood finish is in excellent working condition but has an aged discolored finish that can be refinished very easily without ruining the wood. There is a possibility that the tips can be found or improvised to fit into the holes remaining at the end of the pegs. Shipping will be Parcel Post in the U. S. only. Antique Primitive Expandable Accordian Wooden Hat Coat Peg Rack Very Old Rustic
This auction is for a very old Accordian Style Expanding Wooden Hat Rack. This primitive rack has seven Pegs and measures 16"L x 3" W x 3-1/2" tall when folded. And measures up to 29" when fully expanded. Each peg measures 2-3/4" long. The rack has a dark finish, the wooden expanding arms are ribbed on the top and the seven pegs have copper upholstery tacks in their tops. I have no idea what type of hardware is holding the arms together so I took pictures of the back where the arms are joined. So you can be the judge. It also looks as though some of the hardware may be missing and the wood shows its age with various nicks and scratches. I know it's hard to believe but this antique piece is still pretty sturdy, it opens and closes with ease and the pegs are all secure.
