Stand is in very nice shape but does show normal age appropriate wear- some scuffs/scratches in the finish, one area(shown in pic) on one leg where the finish has been scratched, and it does appear that a repair has been made on one of the top pieces(shown in last picture) Originally thought it was a scratch until further inspection- honestly don't think it is noticable. The rest appears to be all original finish, and worn areas can be seen in the finish especially on the top. This stand has 4'sections' in it. Antique Mission oak plant stand. It has beautiful clean lines and the dark finish quarter sawn oak that this style is famous for. A perfect height for display. But narrow enough to fit in any corner. The stand probably dates from the early 1900's. This piece is in good condition. However the top has warped somewhat over time, as you can see in the pictures. Although it has a nice patina, the finish may not be original and there is some evidence of repairs to the base. There is also a crack in one of the vertical pieces. See picture. Nonetheless, this piece is very stable and strong and does not wobble or tip. This unusual Mission Oak Telephone Bench has a cabinet with a cut corner door on the seat side and I believe a candlestick phone may have sat upon the cabinet and the phone ringer box would be inside of the cabinet. The Condition is Good/ Very Good Pre-owned with normal signs of use and wear with some small bumps. Abrasions and some finish loss. Condition Report Cabinet top has wear to finish. Is slightly uneven in the front with a ring and dark spot in the finish at the back, has a filled nail hole on the right side and a chip ... morein the back corner as pictured. Bench seat has wear to the finish. Some scrapes, and a couple rings in the finish. There is a water spot at the back near the cabinet door, a chip in front right seat corner as pictured, and the seat planks have some glue residue on the underside. Cabinet door has a 3/8" gap on the side opposite the hinge and the spring ball catch for the door is slightly raised off the bench to engage the bottom of the door. Seat rail on side of bench has a very small amount of play. It is not only a handsome piece. But very practical. I think it has been used or displayed in every room of my home over the years. I would imagine this dates to the early 1900's. Measurements are 14" long(top) x 10" wide x 10 1/4" tall. With a thick 1" board on top. It is solid oak- partially quartersawn- and has a wonderful patina with beautiful grain. It appears to be handmade and very nicely crafted, with even some nails that look squared. There are small felt pads on the bottom of each foot which I added so it wouldn't scratch my hardwood floors. ... moreThese can be easily removed. The condition of this piece is Excellent. It is sturdy and solid as a rock. Here for your consideration is an antique ARTS CRAFTS MISSION OAK plant stand. This measures 17 1/4" tall and is 12" square at the top. The legs are tapered and splay out making the base 10 1/2" square. This is constructed of solid oak and features cut-out sides and a scalloped top. There is a slight split to the top that was repaired and really only noticeable from underneath. The piece is otherwise in good sturdy condition with all other wear reflective of age and use. For a small size stand this is solid weighing almost 5.5 lbs. Can be used as a table top or floor display to enhance your ARTS CRAFTS or any decor. Up for auction is this Mission/Arts Crafts Style coat rack. Very sturdy but does have some issues. Solid oak rack with great patina. Measures 68"tall x 12"deep and wide. As the pictures show. This auction is for an antique most unusual MISSION. ARTS& CRAFTS, Victorian era side accent table. Here comes the story on the table. It sat in the corner of my grandparents summer cottage for all 70 years that they owned the cottage. It originally held a lamp that was an apothecary jar filled with marbles. I only mention that. Because my brother through a"Dick and Jane" book at me, and it broke the lamp, and the marbles went everywhere. Our butts were sore for the entire evening after that. When my family sold the cottage. I just had to have the table. I took it home, placed it in a corner with a huge fern on it until, I moved out of that house in 1988. When I was moving the table is the first time I ever noticed that one& half of the six legs were broken off. I was telling my mom about it, and she laughed and told me ... morethat I must be blind because the legs were gone since before I was born in 1947. She told me that was the reason it was in the corner for all those years. I can't believe I missed it. It never wobbled for me. And, as you can see, it stands straight when you have things placed on it. The top needs refinishing for sure. It has 12 sides to it. And a beading ball rim. The oak body has rounded off ridges running the length of the table. There are cut out diamond shapes around the table. If you can live with the unusual leg problem. And love things in a shabby condition, you could really love this true ARTS& CRAFTS little table. It can be used in many styles of home decor. Such as,Steampunk, Victorian, Arts& Crafts, Gothic, and if you dare to paint it, shabby and chic. Made from solid wood slats of quarter-sawn oak, glued together to create a butcher block solid piece of wood that is lathe turned to create this beautiful pedestal. Original label on this Lakeside Craft Shops piece. Original finish as well. In very nice condition. But please remember this is about 100 years old so has that antique look and light wear. This must have had an insert(perhaps copper) but is gone. You can see shadow lines where the rim(of this missing piece) was atop this. Nice sturdy solid frame and joints. Measures 22 5/8" high.The top is 10 3/4" across. Hole measures 6 7/8" diameter. All the original plugs are in their respective holes on all 9 legs.
