Charming vintage oak plant stand. Round top and bottom surfaces are held in place by three gently curved legs. Molded edges accent the shapes of each piece. Made in England, Victorian era, Circa 1890, Mahogany, Hidden drawer, Carved leg, Dovetailed drawer, Some normal wear to top, Age splits and old repairs to apron, A wonderful antique specimen from England around 1890. This hall table was probably once used as a washstand. But today would function perfectly in a foyer, entryway, hallway, or stairwell. The mahogany has a particularly nice patina to it that can only come with age. The piece features a hidden drawer in the middle for a little bit of storage room. The nicely carved front leg gives the table ... moresome pizazz while the clean lines of the piece don't over do it. The drawer is dovetailed, a sign of high quality craftsmanship. There are a few age splits and old repairs in the apron shown in the photos. These are purely cosmetic phenomenon and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. The top also shows wear marks consistent with age and has a faded ring to the right side. Overall the table is quite sturdy and would make a wonderful addition to any home. The top is a beautiful patinated mahogany. It is in good condition. You can see the slight ring to the right side. The top does show signs of wear consistent with age in the form of tiny dings all over the surface some of which can be seen here. The wonderfully carved leg is supportive and good looking. The hidden drawer pulls out to reveal some storage space. The drawer is dovetailed. A sign of high quality craftsmanship. Both sides have similar slight age separations and repairs on the apron. Mahogany Candle Lamp Fern Stand Carved Horse Heads This is a beautiful mahogany three leg stand with carved stylized horse heads on the legs. Originally i thought the wood was walnut but upon close inspection of the grain i now believe it is mahogany. The stand is unmarked so it is difficult to determine age but i think this is from the 1900's perhaps a little earlier. This stand has a very folk art feel to it and i believe it was home made. In the top are 3 concentric circles that were turned into the surface though i am not sure why. The stand measures 31 inches tall 15 inches in diameter Condition: The stand is in very good condition with no breaks or cracks. The top looks funny and it looks like it was once repaired but i am not sure it was. I believe it was home made and they probably used whatever wood they had which is why the ... moretop looks repaired. It was probably not professionally jointed. If you look at the top from beneath you can see the texture of the two pieces of wood is different but the top has the concentric grooves which i think is original. This antique Duncan Phyfe solid mahogany wood magazine rack measures 16' wide. 17' tall at the center cutout handle and is 12' deep. There are some markings on the bottom, but there is not a company makers name or stamp. The surface has some scratches and the finish on some edges are worn. There are a few small nicks. The center divider with the handle moves slightly when lifting the piece. Overall this piece is very solid and secure. The ormolu is just exquisite with golden highlights at all points up and down on this piece. The cabinet measures 30 1/2" tall by 14 1/2" across. The marble is a malachite green with fossilized pieces in the graining. The piece is in excellent condition for its early 19th century age. But it does have some tiny losses in a few top spots at the base and the top. We mention for accuracy as nothing is really seen. PLANT STAND Mahogany Inlaid Wood Brass Jardiniere Pot Neoclassical 1900 French?
This beautiful old m ahogany plant stand features curved wood sides with inlaid striping and a spun solid brass jardinier insert. It measures 39" high and is 16" across at its widest dimension. I h ave NO idea as to what style to properly attribute this plant stand to. I have seen somewhat similar plant stands described as being Neoclassical. Edwardian, Louis XIV, Louis XVI, Empire or Louis Philippe. I am truly out of my element here! English? French? I simply do not know. I do not find any makers marks on it and I don't know when or where it was made. Based on some of its construction details thou gh, I think it likely it dat es from the early part of the 20th c entury. The stand is tight and sturdy an d t here are no repairs on it. I can find only one s pot on the corner edge of a leg where there is a small area w here the ... morewood is chippe d. Personally I wouldn't touch it- I' d just turn the stand so it was on the least visible side. The big gest condition issue I see is that the original finish has some whit ish areas from age deterio rat ion. I believe that the finish is lacqu er. And simply respraying it with a fresh coat of lacquer would soft en and meld into t he original finish to restore it. As such, I have avoided putting any thing on it that would reduce the effectiveness of a simple lacquer recoat. I am willin g to pack and ship this plant stand and ship it as is stated in my shipping terms. I am a very careful packer and have packed and shipped a great many fragile items. Mid 1800's American EMPIRE Crotch Mahogany shaving mirror stand w rolled drawers, This is a gorgeous mahogany period empire. 1830-1850 shaving stand. The dimensions are 27.5" H x 21" W x 12" D. It has 2 rolled drawers and a large original mirror. It may be a Southern piece. It is a fresh local estate purchase from a Ga Octogenarian's home. This piece is in very nice condition. There are a few small repairs and a couple of areas that are missing veneer/ have damage. There is one small piece of molding that is missing between the drawers. The crotch mahogany is beautiful in its detail and color. The mirror is in very nice condition with a couple of small areas where it has a little silvering loss or ghosting. This has nice handmade dovetailing on the drawers and highly carved and scrolled mirror arms and legs. The hardware ... morethat holds the mirror is original and in great condition. Antique Mahogany Martha Washington Sewing Cabinet Stand Side Compartments. Two Drawers Opens to Desk! This is a beautiful antique Martha Washington Sewing Cabinet in very good condition. The cabinet opens to reveal a small desk! A s is typical for most pieces of this style. T he cabinet has flip-top side compartments and base drawers. Rather than three drawers. This unique piece has two drawers and opens and folds to reveal a beautiful pull-out writing surface, two letter compartments, and two small drawers with tiny brass knobs. When closed. The cabinet measures 31" tall, 33.75" wide and 14" deep. When the desk is open, it is 35.75" tall and 14" to 17.5" deep depending on how far the writing surface is extended. The drawers and side cabinets are clean and in excellent shape. The cabinet is in very good condition ... morewith no cracks or splits. It is not without blemish, but is structurally sound and in very good overall condition. This is a sturdy piece of furniture weighing 36 pounds. The most significant blemish is at the left hinge(when facing the piece) where the top folds back into the desk(this should be visible in the last picture) The hardware is a bit temperamental and has caused a knick in the wood. But the damage is not visible when the desk is open. There is some repair to where the back left leg attaches to the base which is not visible unless you are under the cabinet. I have owned this piece since the early 70s. There is some evidence on the bottom that it has previously been painted. It now has a beautiful finish with a lovely patina that is at least 40 years old. When it was purchased. The antique dealer indicated they had never seen another sewing cabinet that converted to a desk. And I have never seen another one in the more than 40 years I have owned this one. This marvelous cabinet was probably manufactured somewhere in the early twentieth century and is a quality made piece in very nice condition for it's age, a rare find with original stand. This lovely corner cabinet comes in two pieces. The lovely stand with small drawer stands 36 inches tall and appears to have been made for this particular cupboard, as it fits perfectly as shown in my photo's where the two pieces join. The stand is 33 inches across it's widest point and each of the two sides which run against the wall to the corner are 22 1/2 inches long.
