However the top has warped somewhat over time, as you can see in the pictures. Although it has a nice patina, the finish may not be original and there is some evidence of repairs to the base. There is also a crack in one of the vertical pieces. See picture. Nonetheless, this piece is very stable and strong and does not wobble or tip. The legs are tapered and splay out making the base 10 1/2" square. This is constructed of solid oak and features cut-out sides and a scalloped top. There is a slight split to the top that was repaired and really only noticeable from underneath. The piece is otherwise in good sturdy condition with all other wear reflective of age and use. What a pretty table. I believe it is oak. 28.5 inches tall. 18 inches across the top, 4 detailed legs, a detailed skirt, tons of charm. It has nails in it, so it is not old antique, but probably from the 1930s, 40s, or 50s. not an expert) A little nick out of the second shelf and a couple of water glass rings on the top is the only damage. Offered without reserve is an old oak plant stand/ fern pedestal from an estate. This stand would date back into the Victorian era circa 1900. It has a fantastic looking turned fluted column and 4 carved claw or paw feet on the bottom. The finish is old and original, it has some age crazing normally seen on an antique piece from this era but it looks very good overall. There are various small dings, light scratches and a small chip in the column shown in the 4th close up photo, the top has some stains but it is what you would expect a piece that is over 100 years old to look like, it is an old original antique. The top measures approx. 13" across by 2 3/4" thick, it is 30 1/4" tall, it is approx. 10" from claw foot to claw foot, the fluted column is approx. 3 3/4" at the widest point. I have for sale two of these antique oak nightstands/ end tables/ plant stands. They both stand 31 inches tall. The top measures 18 by 12 inches. The edges are ornate carved. The lady I bought them form said they were 60 years old plus. She had them for that long. Tey are different in the aspect that the bottom shelf is at different levels. One of them. The shelf is at 16.5 inches from the floor. The other one is 10.5 inches from the floor. They are in very good condition for the age. Rare and unusual fern or plant stand, or it could be a stand for a jardiniere. at any rate, it is a neat piece to say the least. it is hexagon in shape and the sides( 6 or them) are all bombayed and serpentine. it is quartersawn oak to perfection. no damages to note, mint condition, all original except it has been refinished, another painted piece, mercy. i have included a picture of a piece that is very much like this one. the book it is in has a copyright of 1998, so it is 15 years old. it list the piece between 650 and 700. i paid 350 years ago and had to refinish it. at any rate, i am starting it at what i have in it cash outlay. it may be picked up at my home or shipped usps or fedex or ups for less than 50.00 i would think. shipping is buyer's expense, should you do the buy it now, i will pay the shipping. good luck. sorry ... morei forgot the dimensions, it is 16.5 inches across the top diagonally, each of the 6 sides is about 8.5 inches wide. it stands about 18.5 inches tall

Top is not flat and might have been fixed with in the past 20 or so years, has light burn rings on the top. Stand is sturdy with no real bad scratches or digs, could use refinshing or left just the way it was found.

It does have an awesome oak veneer sheet over the actual fluted wood but it does have some chipped off pieces as shown in the pictures. I am not sure what type of wood is underneath or on the feet. It is a unique and beautiful piece. I was also told it was from the early 1900's or possibly older. It is a nice old piece with a great rustic look about it. The finish has a great worn patina and gives it a great look for a country house or chabby chic living room. The top is made from 4 separate pieces of wood and there is some issues with the surface being a little uneven. There is a little give in one of the end piece boards. The piece is still sturdy and the top could hold a plant or vase but I would not put anything very heavy on it without tightening up the top some. I have left it as is because I like the inconsistency in the top as it shows age and gives character to the piece. If you are looking for a piece in perfect condition you may not want to purchase ... morethis piece. But if you are looking for a great antique look with character this piece may be for you. It stands 28 inches tall and the top measures 16 inches by 16 1/2 inches. The middle shelf has 12 inches of clearance to the top shelf. The middle shelf stands 14 1/2 inches from the ground. We think it was salvaged in the early 70’s and has been stored in a garage. It has fantastic carving and details. The Newel Post that is 26 ½ inches tall. Base is 9 ½ inches across and the top is 6 ½ inches across on the largest side. There are a couple of chipped places. One is at the very top and is about 2 ½ inches and the other is 1 ½ inches on a top rung.
