FINE PR 19C CHINESE WOODEN STANDS FOR SHELLS, PLATES OR JADES W LEAVES & BERRIES
For auction we have here a fine pair of 19c Chinese hardwood display stands that were most likely made for shells but can easily be used as plate stands or for jade plaques or bi. This pair was produced in China around the mid 19c and are unlike the normal stands that are seen with the standard prunus flowers and branches that were carved in a more average type skill. However this pair is as fine as any good Chinese carved hardwood objects of the period. Both stands are finished with climbing branches and vines with various sized berry groupings and leaves with delicate tendrils worked onto the main branches that display realistic knots. The color is very attractive in a deep dark brown and were quite dusty so I only did a light clean with warm water and then buffed up with a natural hair detail brush and the original patinized surface popped ... moreout in the most amazing sheen and when one holds them you can feel the age and 150 years of natural patina. Condition is excellent with no cracks, chips, repairs or losses. Sizes are the same for both at Width 6-1/2" x Height 5-1/2" x Depth 2-1/2" A very fine pair of hardwood carved stands for the collector and the winner will be extremely pleased with their purchase. Here I have an interesting grouping if miniature vases. The first two appear to be Famille Rose pattern. The wood base has a very faint JAPAN carved on the bottom. I have seen these called sleeve vases and trumpet vases. There aren't any cracks but their might be a green area net the top that is unglazed or has chipped off the main body. It feels smooth. The bottom is unfinished. Measurements- 3" high on the stand. 1 5/8" wide at the opening The other two are not as old but I am including them as well. They are a baluster shape and feature beautiful hand painted flowers with a crackle glaze. They are really lovely. There is some gold paint loss from the top of the base. Vintage Glasses 3 with etching gold, 2 stand 4" tall and one stands 4 1/2" tall
These 3 vintage glasses each has a gold band around the top and two of them stand 4 inches high. The other stands 4 1/2" tall. They also have gold around the base. Two of the glasses are identical with the gold bands having etching throughout. One of the glasses has a lighter gold band area due to age and a few small chips around the lip area. Some of the gold is slightly worn around the gold base area. The third glass is of a different pattern. It has gold around the base but is worn in some areas of the base. This piece has etching all around in the glass and in the gold base as well on top. The two 4" tall glasses are crystal but I am unsure if the third glass is crystal. I am not sure how many stands were originally in the box but this box has 2 in good condition. Coleman this model during the years from 1954 through 1960. The stands have a few marks. Little bit of oxidation. No damage, folds up well, joints are flexible. Overall very good condition on the stand. The box has a lot of storage wear and is reinforced with masking tape. Open to International Bidders! This No Reserve auction. Is for a matched pair of 2 vintage 1976 Slingerland model# 68" Buddy Rich" boom cymbal stands. These stands can be found in the 1976 Slingerland drum catalog. These stands can be used as boom stands. Or you can remove the boom arms, dimantle the cymbal tilters, and reassemble as straight stands! Both stands match each other perfectly. Right down to the wing screws. Both stands look great, but one of the stands has visible surface rusting on two of it's tripod legs. New Danmar rubber tips have been installed on all of the tripod legs. Also, new cymbal felts and rubber insulators have been installed on each tilter assembly. New reproduction Slingerland red/silver decals have been installed on each stand. To be perfectly honest with you. The boom tilters are small, poorly ... moredesigned, and they cannot manage the weight and leverage of the boom arms. I highly recommend that you use these stands as straight models. The boom arms are about 22" long and have removeable chrome plated weights on each arm. Drum stands and fittings job lot
Largely Pearl and some Ludwig stands and various drum fittings from my late father-in-laws collection of bits and pieces left over from his shop which closed down ten years ago or so. Some parts are new old stock and some are used everything on the wooden board is in the auction. I'm not sure what a lot of it is as I'm not into drums.
