Instead of the typical lift up lid there is a large drawer at the bottom w. brass handle pull. on the left side behind column is an umbrella holder with original drip pan. The shaped beveled mirror is original, hence there are a few spots and streaks, but doesn't detract from the looks. Total width, including umbrella holder, is 39" depth is 18" height is 80-1/2" We have not refinished this hall tree, the finish appears to be original and is quite good, the piece is structurally strong as well. This was used on my 4th bike for about 3 months and was well maintained and lightly used. My goal was as light as possible with this post and CB delivered. I didn't want the extra weight and clutter of a remote cable/lever. I took post to Crank Brothers last fall and they rebuilt it with all new seals and has since not been used. Works flawlessly. The stool was sold by The A. Lietz Co. in San Francisco. The four-legged riveted joint steel base is a painted a nice deep green color. Although I can't be positive, it looks to be original paint. The original weathered maple wood seat with slightly sunken center is 13 1/4 across and tightly affixed to the metal base. It is splitting a bit as you can see in the pictures, but it is very solid. Here is a Vintage find legendary bench made painted and traditional stencilled Foot Stool/Vanity Bench to round out your country New England decor home decorating needs this winter and cozy up to the fireside in style! Recently pulled from a New Jersey estate, this Bench has some wear associated with useage and age, but is well marked from the original Hitchcock Factory in Riverton, CT before the bankruptcy a few years ago and restarted with new investors,this is the Real Deal, a true vintage piece circa 1940's or so. It is also the cheapest and nicest one on EBay public offerment this week looking for a new appreciative home! The Foot Stool/Bench consists of a turned leg 4-legged frame in the Sheraton style with a slight scooped seating area fitted with a slip-seat removeable hand worked ... morewool needlepoint Seat Cover in black with appropriate Fruit Basket motif as was used on so many chair backs of the period. I do not know if this is factory original. But it appears older and in excellent condition with bright coloration and no damage, overall, the Bench is sturdy and able to bear full weight as it was meant to be built for. The turned rungs are paint gilded with old gold paint over black finish. This part is original finish and patina. Please study the pictures I have taken extensively of all angles to see worn spots on this piece well on its way to becoming an antique. There are scratches on most of the tubes and stays. But are difficult to see with the dark color. No dents or dings or any significant issues to report. The fork is intact. But the chrome is pitted. I cleaned it up as best as it will clean. Leave it or paint it? The bracket and headset have been removed and lubed. Both work good. Seat post is alloy. Comes as seen in pics.
