This fine piece features beautiful geometric and incised carvings, pierced carvings, turned finials and spindles along with burl walnut accents, the original mirror and original marble. This shaving stand measures 68 inches in height to the top of the finials on the mirror. Height from the floor to the marble top measures 41 1/2 inches, with a total width of 18 1/2 inches and total depth of 18 inches and this stand weighs approximately 55 lbs. The original mirror measures 15 1/2 inches high by 8 1/2 inches wide. The inserted brown marble measures 12 3/4 inches wide by 12 1/4 inches deep. This is a wonderful find in such pristine antique condition.its obvious this piece has been cherished and well taken care of over the past century. It appears to have its original finish that is rich and inviting. This shaving stand sits level and is nice and sturdy with no breaks or repairs we can find. The lacy designs on the bases that hold the marble pieces are gorgeous accents to offset the marble. The legs are curvy and end with ornate decorative bases for the feet. One of the small decorative pieces is missing where the center marble base attaches to the leg, see last pic) This is not at all noticeable when against a wall. Adorable Antique c1880 Intact English Bamboo Display or Plant Stand Xlnt Condit
Absolutely adorable authentic Victorian display stand(c 1880) in great condition. There are a couple of splits in the bamboo legs(see photo 4 and 8) but they are stable and not wobbly or coming un-done. This piece is probably English. Marked by the smoked tortoiseshell effect on the legs of real bamboo. There are a couple of things that make this piece quite remarkable: First. Its diminuative size. It stands 9 1/2" tall. The tabletop measures 10 3/8" x 9 1/2" Secondly, the fact that the woven and stenciled matting on the top of the stand are completely original and without blemish! More sophisticated pieces would have had a lacquered face to the top. But, we want to stress how unusual it it to find the more fragile matting material intact. And to have stenciling on it that hasn't been ruined by water damage makes this just ... morea great find! Being good stewards of beautiful household items from the past, we would emphasize the care you should exhibit with this delicious bit of Victoriana. Please don't plop a plant down on it that's going to leak all over it and ruin its beautiful state. A small vignette of objets d'art, a handsome bust or other decorative item sitting on display would be more suitable companions. If you might put candles on it, place a pretty piece of fabric on the matting that will match your decor and protect its surface. You'll notice in the second photo that the bamboo that trims the edge of the tabletop is a bit short at each end. This original 1950s/60s plant stand consists of 4 platforms arranged vertically, so that several plants can be displayed in a relative small space. The platform surfaces are finished with formica and surrounded by gold& black metallic rims. The largest platform at the base is a kidney-shaped table in a light grey mottled pattern. Its three legs are placed at an angle and have metal tips. This is followed by another smaller light blue oval platform. The platform on the next level up is red, and there’s a yellow platform at the top. Dimensions(approx. This solid cast iron plant/lamp stand is late Victorian(c. 1885) It apears to be consistent with American design and manufacture. There are no found maker's marks on the stand. This beautiful old m ahogany plant stand features curved wood sides with inlaid striping and a spun solid brass jardinier insert. It measures 39" high and is 16" across at its widest dimension. I h ave NO idea as to what style to properly attribute this plant stand to. I have seen somewhat similar plant stands described as being Neoclassical. Edwardian, Louis XIV, Louis XVI, Empire or Louis Philippe. I am truly out of my element here! English? French? I simply do not know. I do not find any makers marks on it and I don't know when or where it was made. Based on some of its construction details thou gh, I think it likely it dat es from the early part of the 20th c entury. The stand is tight and sturdy an d t here are no repairs on it. I can find only one s pot on the corner edge of a leg where there is a small area w here the ... morewood is chippe d. Personally I wouldn't touch it- I' d just turn the stand so it was on the least visible side. The big gest condition issue I see is that the original finish has some whit ish areas from age deterio rat ion. I believe that the finish is lacqu er. And simply respraying it with a fresh coat of lacquer would soft en and meld into t he original finish to restore it. As such, I have avoided putting any thing on it that would reduce the effectiveness of a simple lacquer recoat. I am willin g to pack and ship this plant stand and ship it as is stated in my shipping terms. I am a very careful packer and have packed and shipped a great many fragile items. We have very little information to offer about this vintage Chinese or Asian Carved Wooden Table or Plant Stand. The beautiful old piece measures 29-1/2 inches tall. And 14-1/2 inches at the diameter of the top. Across the legs, the table is 20 inches wide overall. The table is solidly constructed by what looks to be walnut, but might also be rosewood, as it feels lighter than walnut. The finish is less than perfect, and there have been some old repairs made to a couple of the legs, as shown in the pictures. LOVELY SILVER PLATED VINTAGE DISH / ASHTRAY / PLANT STAND!
Here we have a lovely. Vintage piece of silver plate, stamped EP COPPER R to the base. This means it is electroplated Silver on a Copper base. I don't know what the"R" stands for. It's possible this was intended to be used as an ashtray but I feel it could be used as a base to stand a small vase in. The diameter of the piece is a little over 19 cms and the inner diameter is 8 cms. Wieght is 220 grammes. The height is about 3.5 cms. As can be seen from the accompanying photos. The design work is very intricate and the only"damage" are a few areas of wear to the plate. I have personally given it a basic clean and as it stands. It is presentable and ready to go! Dating this is difficult but it's almost certainly pre 1960. Which side of World War 2 is more difficult to ascertain. It could be Continental and early ... more20th century. Ornate Carved Wood Architectural Column Mohogany? Bust Pedistal Plant Stand OLD
This is the most ornate column I have ever seen! Hardly one square inch that is not carved. Genuine salvaged antique. Ornate capital has flower on every side. Below that is rounded. Raised band all the way around. The tapered shaft has a geometric, diamond pattern. Bottom has carved leaves on textured background. If you want something truly unique, here is your chance! This late Victorian brass plant/lamp stand is in great original found condition. The stand and onyx appears to be in fine condition with no apparent damage. Repairs or missing parts. The brass patina is very good and probably has never been polished or cleaned. However, it could be cleaned and polished if so desired. The top apron is ornately detailed. The spiral(twisted) legs end in turned ball feet. There is a reticulated, Victorian designed shelf near the bottom of the stand. It serves as a stretcher for the legs, and can also be used as a shelf. The approx. dimensions are as follows: 29 1/2" H; top 14" x 14" and the bottom shelf is 6 1/2" x 6 1/2.
