Spectacular, Art Deco, chrome and black, revolving top, linear, deco-grooved base, tall coat rack, hall tree, or, as they said in the early 20th century, customer" for the front hall or your home, office or business. The quality suggests that it might have been used in a hotel lobby, a trendy restaurant or an Art Deco building in the 1930's. The great, ridged base and retro hooks are outstanding, giving the item its high art deco design. The rack is heavy, about 50 lbs. Chrome pole is 1 ¼” diameter. The steel bottom is numbered. Antique 1900's Ball Stick Arts & Crafts Solid Oak Hall Tree Coat Rack Seat WOW!!
Up or auction is an INCREDIBLE antique late 1890's-1920's Arts& Crafts Ball& Stick solid oak hall tree. This is a wonderful example of ball and stick design. There are 5! beveled glass mirrors and wonderful carvings to go with the top. Middle and lower ball& stick galleries. So much work went into this. There is a hammered brass umbrella stand with barley twist bars to hold the tops. There are WONDERFUL Eastlake style coat hangers all present and matching. The are mounted to turned wood disks that float with sticks inside a wood frame. There is a real show piece hand carved oak detail of raised rectangles at the main center that is just incredible to think it was hand carved. Two matching sun ray designs are above and below the mirror. Lastly there is a wonderful little drawer below the seat with telling joinery that dates ... morethis to the machine age. The corner joints are routered pins and holes in half round circles(Anyone who knows the name of this joinery I would love to know) This piece measures 83" tall x 29" wide x 16" deep. It is not a huge piece. In fact I believe the top crown to have been added to give height to this piece. I only have a very slight color change to go by and VERY WELL may be wrong but perhaps the house this was going into needed a little more height. There are little flame points at the top and ball and stick with the square posts matching perfectly so it is an old addition if at all. You can see how it would look with out it as this comes right out of its four mount holes. This is a piece to see in person. I would never hold you to an auction for a piece of furniture that you only saw pictures of. Feel free to bid and if this piece isn't as incredible to you and I think it is. Remember when a ton of Doctors had their office and examination rooms in their house? He passed away in the early 1980s but his wife and daughter kept a lot of the things in the same place they sat for years. I also have a nice mid-century magazine rack from his office for sale in a separate listing. I suppose I could have split these two pieces up but they stood together in the same spot for so many decades I thought they should stick together. All of her furniture, as well as all of her décor, was Asian/Oriental in theme. Here's a FANTASTIC antique hall tree/ coat rack/ seat bench from the late Victorian or early Edwardian period. I'd say it was made c1890s to c1910. It's in EXCELLENT condition with it's original hardware. Finish and handsome beveled class mirror. The seat lifts for a storage area, however the bottom section within is mission and can easily be replaced for resumed use and not be at all visible either way unless one lifts up the seat. If this were for sale at an antiques store it would easily be priced over $450 to $550 and is worth every bit of that. It came from an old New England home. SALESMAN'S SAMPLE or DOLL HOUSE FURNITURE This is a solid brass miniature size hall tree coat rack. It is a nice vintage piece in excellent condition with aged patina. It measures 16" high. It is just the right size for the American girl doll. You could also use it for hanging necklaces or hats on your dresser or keys by the front door. I believe it is a salesman's sample but it is perfect to use for a childs doll house furniture. I have not seen another like it and it is solid brass and stronger than any doll house piece I have ever seen. You be the judge. This hall stand is a perfect size to place in about any foyer or entrance way to keep those jackets. Antique 1800's Eastlake- Iron Hook Wood Wall Hat Coat Rack Hall Tree Cane Shelf- Some pics with camera flash and some pics without camera flash- Rack measures 30" across x 7" high- Here is a very nice eastlake style rack. As you can tell from my title description it can be used for many things but was not exactly sure what to call it.I belive the wood is a walnut but i am not positive. all 5 hooks look to be cast iron and are all very solid.The hooks all swivel to the right and left, they are not stationary but do stay in place. Hooks have no cracks, breaks, or hairlines fractures and should hold fast for many more years,i have put considerable pressure on each hook to see how well they hold and they all were able to take a good amount of weight,rack has 4 white porcelain knobs at each corner i assume for decoration. They are ... moreall in great shape aswell. rack has two holes at the top for mounting onto the wall and all 4 wood pieces have 6 carved lines in them for decoration. i really do not see any damage or issues aside from one trivial insignificant chip in the middle on top of rack,it is very very hard to notice and youd really only see it if you were up close and inspecting it so i really wouldnt worry about it. i also dont believe it is in any danger of chipping any more. basicly top to bottom this is one very nice antique rack, it has a lot of character and needs a new home.it will be packed up and shipped like a new born baby. any questions just ask, need more pictures just ask.
