Raised panels of burl walnut, carved rosettes, incised carvings, the original mirrors and the original recessed beveled edge marble top, with shaped walnut display shelves flanking the center mirror. Truly a grand statement piece you would be proud to showcase in your home. This fabulous étagère measures 105 1/2 inches( 8' 9 1/2" in total height. Height to the marble at the base is 29 3/4 inches, with a total width of 54 inches and total depth at the base of 19 inches and this étagère weighs approximately 250 lbs total but does dis-assemble into 3 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The original mirror at the center measures 46 3/4 inches in height by 22 1/2 inches wide. This Victorian étagère is in fantastic antique condition. The original mirrors do show some mild spidering silver loss as common with old mirrors. And the original white beveled edge recessed marble top has no chips or cracks but does have some mild discoloration as age appropriate. There is also a small age shrinkage area to the wood by the bottom mirror on the right side see picture of close-up, and a piece of burl veneer missing on the left side towards the back; see close up picture. Neither of these affects the integrity or beauty this elegant piece offers. The locks are intact on the drawer and the cabinet below but the key provided just aids in opening the drawer and the cabinet. This snowshoe travel furniture set was purchased from an estate sale in the late 70's. Not sure the age of the set. Estimate they are mid century. They have been stored in conditioned airspace and don't seem to have ever been used. They are all in near perfect condition. All 3 pieces fold down almost flat. The chairs measure 32 1/2" high and 20 1/2" wide. The table is 19 1/2" tall and the top is 27 1/4" x 16" They were made by the Tubbs Snowshoe Co. in Wallingford, Vt. Has beautiful tapered legs with brass feet caps The table measures 60" long by 41" wide without leaves. With 3 leaves the table stretches to just under a massive length of 10 feet perfect for those large family gatherings. Though not pictured there are protective pads for the normal table size and 3 leaves so the surface can be protected during those big gatherings and when table has no leaves in. Early American Country Furniture Antique Colonial Armoire Wardrobe Federal @1785
This Spectacular Early American Solid Plank Pine Armoire/Wardrobe is Circa 1785-1800 Of course this piece was all hand made. No doubt by an early American craftsman. It features thick solid pine plank construction.The armoire has tons of character marks and great patina, I restored the finish with a hand rubbed varnish to protect the wood and bring out the gorgeous graining and character marks. The early hand wrought iron nails are exposed.At the door frame front corner faces you can see the two hand made pegs at each corner. They secure the hand made mortise and tenon joinery of the door frames. The entire top has one solid plank of pine which is dovetailed with one large dovetail joint into the sides of the armoire.The blackened graining of the pine is natural and makes for beautiful highlights to the pine. The cornice detail which trims ... morethe cabinet top is superb. Another rare and excellent feature is the original hand made clothes hooks which swivel left& right. They are hand-pegged into their support piece. The whitewashed cabinet inside appears to be original. There are also a few tiny remnants of a linen/muslim cloth held by wrought nails inside the cabinet.It appears the cabinet was one lined with linen cloth. The iron lock is original, I had a period style key made,the key is solid brass which I painted to match the hardware.The lock and key work excellently. The hardware is reproduction period style iron hardware.This piece has many nicks. Dings and character marks in the wood, There is an exposed nail on the lower left front corner where a chip of wood has been missing for a long time, I like the fact you can see this nail, it adds tremendous character& history to this piece, I made no attempt to restore this area, I think it is unique! The doors have age related shrinkage gaps where the recessed panels meet the frame, this is to be expected with a such an old piece.The doors close well, I added magnetic catches to secure them. Second photo shows its size compared to a school chair and an adult chair. SIZE: SEAT is 12" high 11" wide Chair back top is 24" from the floor weighs 4 1/2 pounds CONDITION: see above. In the 3rd picture you can see on the right side a crack that goes down to the spindle. I took closeup with the last 4 photos-No. 8-12. It looks like the spindle has been reglued on the chair seat and to the bowed back frame. I still am not sure that the crack goes completely through to the spindle. You decide. Interesting lot of old doorknob rosettes escutcheons for your consideration. I am not sure of what there original use was for because of there smaller size. I am guessing they were an early doorknob application from entry doors in homes. They might have been an early furniture backplate as well. Could be used either way I suppose depending on your need. No manufacturing marks. There is a very small amount of original copper Jappanning still evident on a couple of these which I think were there original finish. There are ten in this lot measuring an unusual smaller size at 1 1/2 inches across. Center holes are 3/8 of an inch. large enough for a standard 1/4 inch mortise driverod. These are in very nice condition. All the seating cleats are intact with no break or cracks. These would work nicely on cabinet or furniture resoration as well. Antique Architectural Salvage Furniture Parts Eastlake Pediment/Pine Backsplash
Welcome. Offered today is a lot of 2 antique architectural salvage furniture parts. The first is a pediment from the Victorian period with an Eastlake design. It is made of walnut but I am not 100% sure. It measures 33 1/2" long. It features a scalloped design with a large center detail. The scalloped area is 1 1/2" and the large center is 3 1/8" The piece is 7/8" wide and can sit on a door or window molding. This is in good condition with a lovely patina. The dowels that originally held it in place have broken off but could easily be drilled out if you needed to. The next piece is made of hand planed pine and came off a primitive wash stand or wash table. It was the backsplash. This too has a lovely patina. This measures 32" long and is 5 1/2" wide. It features a curved cut out design on each end. There are ... moretwo holes where it was attached. It is a thin piece. 1/2" but solid. The original color was a pumpkin and one side is more finished than the other which is more rustic. There is a long narrow but shallow slice off of one side. 10 Vintage Style Oil Rubbed Brass Knobs Description Drop pull with matching knob. New Overstock This auction is for 10 vintage style oil rubbed brass Knobs. 2 matching drop pulls as pictured. New overstock. Never used condition. Knobs measures 1 1/4" across bottom. 1" across top. 1 1/4" tall. There is a matching drop pull as shown in the last picture the matching drop pulls measures 3 1/2" long. Rosette measures 1 3/4" across. Drop pull measures 2 3/4" by 2" wide. See last picture.
