This Estate Sale Tantalus Set is heavy ornately designed crystal on a four sides. With brass caps& holder, the hang tags are reversible and say Vodka/Bourbon/Scotch or Rye as you choose. The set is 8 pounds for shipping, well designed& solid. The brass shows some pitting due to age& usage wear, it hasn't been cleaned, but, should polish up nicely. I felt a rough spot on one corner of one decanter when I removed it from the holder to check it's condition, a small corner chip that you don't see and doesn't interfere with the integrity or usability of the set. The decanters are 10 3/4" H, and, in the holder the overall height is 14" 7 6/8" W and 4" D, both pumps work and the insider feeding straw is present on each one. I don't see a makers mark ShipSaver. RARE CAST BRASS ANTIQUE POLITICAL BLACK AMERICANA MECHANICAL UNCLE SAM BANK 1886
For your consideration today Is this Unusual Political Americana mechanical bank from a friemds antique collection. What makes this a Rare find is that it's not cast iron. but Cast Brass. The bottom has grinder marks that finished off the base after casting. I checked it with a slightly larger drill bit in one of the holes already in the base, it's yellow brass. Also, you can see the brass on the edges of wear on Sam. A heavy magnet proves the bolts, screws, pins that hold it togrther are steel. It's marked on the bottom in the casting like others that are Iron with the Pat. date of Nov 16 1886. The marking is on both sides with wear but when you look at both it's clear enough to make out the letters& date. The lever works as it should moving Sam's beard, arm, bag. All parts shown are brass, but his umbrella, access ... moredoor, key are missing. These missing parts can be found with a little research& time to complete again, but will be Iron. I could not find one of these{brass} Uncle Sam Banks with many hours of research. I have no idea when or were it was made, but it's Old! It stands 11- 1/4 inches tall from the base to the top of his hat. The base is 4- 13/ 16's by 3- 7/8 inches, and is 6- pounds using my postal scale. Antique Early Kerosene Lamp/ Lantern Tin and Brass Wood Handle Nice Collectible
Early Antique Kerosene Lamp Lantern Old estate find from a collector. This is one of many lanterns that the owner had in his collection. It is an early lantern made of tin and brass and I am told that it is a kerosene lamp. It has a rectangular shape with glass windows on two sides and a door on the back. The two solid sides have round reflectors mounted on the inside. The windows are framed in decorative brass frames, the body of the lamp appears to be a heavy tin. There is a turning knob for the wick that extends to the outside and a decorative chimney with diamond shape cut outs on the top. The lamp stands on four tin legs and there is a metal piece that extends from the bottom. There is a handle on the top with a wood handle. I do not know the age. The lantern is in good antique condition with wear to the finish. It is a great primitive ... moredisplay piece. Here is a gorgeous pair of solid cast brass candlelabra that originally were used at one of the first Catholic Churches in the state of Iowa. I bought these many year ago from an elderly woman in Festina. She told me these were from the"Our Lady of Seven Dolors" Catholic church in Festina. established in the middle 1800's) These were orginally supposed to have come from Italy. Her mother had cleaned there in the early 1900's and these were replaced and the priest told her mother she could have them. And they sat in this woman's attic for about 50 years. I got them in the late 1970's) These are really a nice looking set of candlelabra, they stand 17 inches tall and about 8 1/2 inches at their widest point and weigh about 6 pounds each.
