Antique ASHCROFT Steel Faced Large Brass Steam Gauge Live Steam Boiler Steampunk
This i s a Brass with Steel face ASHC ROFT Mfg Co of New York Steam Gauge rated u p to 300 pounds of pressure. Likely a boiler gauge during its course of use it is very good original condition. The glass is pristine the brass is shiny and not dinged up. And the steel face is still bright and easy to read. The gauge measures 7 1/4" across the front face and 8 inches across the back panel. the stem is good shape with no damage at all to the conn ection. Queen Anne's Revenge, recovered on the coast of North Carolina. You can find all about it on the net. As far as I know, only one brass coin weight was recovered. Our example. Like the one found on the ship, is a Queen Anne brass weight. However, ours is a 1/2 guinea and measures 17mm. This is a super nice piece that never needs to be upgraded! The clock body is made of solid sheet brass, and by itself weighs 5 1/2 lbs. The lenses on the two hinged bezels are glass. The clock can rotate on the bracket, for viewing from different angles. Perfect for hallway, kitchen, restaurant, or other location which permits viewing from two sides. The hanging bracket is iron with antique finished redwood supports. Nice Old Antique Landers 50 lb Brass Face Hanging Scale, Farm, Business, Home
Here's an old or antique brass face hanging scale we received with some older tools recently. This one is a Landers Improved Spring Balance Scale and measures weight up to 50 lbs. It is designed with a ring top and a hook at the bottom. The ring top makes the scale very portable and this one had been used in and about a farm here in NH for many years as often trade of farm goods between neighbors and customers involved weighing the product or produce. This one is well aged in appearance and the brass had crown dull and somewhat dark. The top of this has been bent slightly. We left it unadjusted and show this area in the photos. When hung from the ring it is about 12 inches in height from the bottom of the hook. The brass face is about 2.25+ inches wide and the tool is about 1 inch deep or thick. Seems to be in proper operating condition ... morefor those who like to get working use out of their antique tools and primitives. That's about it.
