This auction is for an antique most unusual MISSION. ARTS& CRAFTS, Victorian era side accent table. Here comes the story on the table. It sat in the corner of my grandparents summer cottage for all 70 years that they owned the cottage. It originally held a lamp that was an apothecary jar filled with marbles. I only mention that. Because my brother through a"Dick and Jane" book at me, and it broke the lamp, and the marbles went everywhere. Our butts were sore for the entire evening after that. When my family sold the cottage. I just had to have the table. I took it home, placed it in a corner with a huge fern on it until, I moved out of that house in 1988. When I was moving the table is the first time I ever noticed that one& half of the six legs were broken off. I was telling my mom about it, and she laughed and told me ... morethat I must be blind because the legs were gone since before I was born in 1947. She told me that was the reason it was in the corner for all those years. I can't believe I missed it. It never wobbled for me. And, as you can see, it stands straight when you have things placed on it. The top needs refinishing for sure. It has 12 sides to it. And a beading ball rim. The oak body has rounded off ridges running the length of the table. There are cut out diamond shapes around the table. If you can live with the unusual leg problem. And love things in a shabby condition, you could really love this true ARTS& CRAFTS little table. It can be used in many styles of home decor. Such as,Steampunk, Victorian, Arts& Crafts, Gothic, and if you dare to paint it, shabby and chic. Bauer Indian Bowl.11.5x7 Inch. No cracks.There is remnants of paint.May have rub or scratch mars from stand.But I dont notice anything objectionable. Stand is designed specifically for this bowl.It fits so snugly I had a hard time removing bowl.So I shot picture wit it not completely seated. Stand is iron 43 inch tall.Very stable. I cant imagine anyone making a stand to precisely fit this bowl except Bauer.But Im not certain of its origin. Antique 8" Chinese Opera Doll On stand In Original Box
This antique 8" with base) Chinese Opera doll in his original box has a beautifully painted composition head. Delicately positioned wrapped wire hand, wrapped wire legs, and an elaborate costume, which I believe is silk over paper. His robe and headdress are trimmed with gold wire, foil accents, and embroidered ribbon. On the paper wrapped wood base he is stamped"Made In China" His box is also stamped"Made In China" and has a paper"Made In China" label as well. The doll is in excellent condition with perfect face paint and all of his delicate fingers. There is wear to the paper portion of his headdress, and soil on the white sleeve in back, as well as on the light panels on the back of his robe. The first of two matching s ets(plate and stand) i am listing. The warming stand/base measures ~13"33cm) across from handle to handle and 4"10.2cm) deep to the rim of the plate. It is heavy(o ver 1.8kg) and r ichly cast(copper of course) with superb folia te spray detail and supported by four ball and claw feet. The stand is in ver y good- excellent overall condi tion with some copper blush l imited ... moreto the high relief and main conta ct points as per photos. Showing just enough to add a nice accent and highli ght its age. Ther e is a mod est and rather i n conspicuous dent on the lower edge that. Because the surf ace slopes down here. It can only be observed with real scrutiny. The underside of the stand is incised with: what appears to be a giraffe flanked on wither side by the letters A& G; the number 10 in rectangular lozenge(right edge worn) perhap s"100" used in the day to indicate high est quality plat ing thickness; st ar symbol. The serving plate measures 9-5/ 8"24.5cm) in diameter and is in very good condition with just slight traces of visible copper limited to the outside edges but this is certainly not overt. The plate surface has fine scratches and minor d ints but over all condition is very good. i have not ha d the opportunity to identify the maker but it is clear i t is a good one. The dish and cover is 6” in diameter and 4-1/2” H. The stand appears to be brass and at one time was silver plated but over the years from cleaning the silver plating has been rubbed off. Some plating is still visible on the inside of the stand. The cover of the dish has two etched pictures– one of a windmill and the other of a Dutch woman chasing off a goose with a broom. All around the base are scenes of windmills and houses. The dish and cover are in excellent condition with no scratches. Chips or cracks. The cover does have a small bubble in the glass. Antique 1900's Dental Stand Black Glass Iron Medical Table Vintage Industrial
Listing this evening a great old dentist's office item from the early 1900's. This particular stand was removed from a dentists office when he acquired a new"stainless steel" unit from his dental supply salesman sometime around 1955. The stand is 33 1/2" tall. 16 1/2" wide(at the widest point) and 14 1/4" deep. The frame is iron with glossy black paint. The shelves are made of clear thick plate glass that has had multiple coats of black paint applied to the underside of the glass. From a distance it would appear that the shelves are made of black glass. The condition of the iron is excellent(no breaks or rust) The condition of the glass is variable. The top shelf(16" x 14" has the most wear because it was obviously used more often. There are many scratches on the top shelf as well as some chips on ... morethe edges(see pics) The two lower shelves(12" x 10" are in better condition(less scratches and only 2 chips on the back of the lowest shelf) These stands don't come around very often because they were often thrown out when those new stainless steel stands appeared. Wonderful. Rare 8 piece Mason's Ironstone washstand/dresser set in their Flying Bird(Pekoe)pattern. All pieces have a light blue transfer pattern, with hand-colored detailing. The pitcher& soap dish lid have cobalt Hydra handles accented in gold. Each of the flying birds throughout the set are outlined(detailed) in gold. The pitcher& wash bowl also have one flower(the same flower on each piece) that is accented in gold. No other parts of the pattern have gold accenting- a nice detail. All pieces have Mason's Ironstone mark& various hand written symbols or letters(mostly in Iron red) The set includes: Large Washbowl- 16" diameter; 5 1/2" tall- note that the outside of the bowl has flowers but there was not enough room to include a picture Large Wash Pitcher w/Hydra handle- 11 1/2" tall; 10 1/2" wide ... morehandle to spout. We are pleased to offer this great antique candle stand back to the market. This piece dates to the early 1800's. The maker is unknown. The stand is approximately 27 3/8" high.The top measures 19 3/8" x 16 3/8" This is constructed from either maple or birch but I cannot tell positively which one because of the stain on it. Two of the legs have been repaired and they appear to be high quality professional repairs with finger joints. There are also signs of other early repairs. This has age appropriate signs of use and wear with surface scratches and there are some stains on the top as well. The finish has a lovely patina to it. Antique Mission Arts & Crafts Plant Stand Small Table 2 Tier Hexagonal Shape
Being offered for your consideration is this Mission. Arts& Crafts Style small table or plant stand. It measures 18" tall and it's six-sided top measures 10-1/2" across(at widest point) It has a sort of three-prong shaped base that sits about 4" up from the bottom, which could be used as a second tier for holding a potted plant. The bottoms of legs are bare wood- there are no metal or rubber feet or felt covering. The wood finish on this stand is in great shape. Especially when you consider it's age. Although nothing stands out as evident, there may be a small blemish or surface scratch here and there, commensurate with age. Also the top of stand has what looks to be some spots of residual white paint in the wood grain. I tried to photograph this, but it doesn't really show up in the pictures. It looks like ... morea little very light sanding would get rid of this, but I didn't want to risk doing anything to the finish. This table is structurally sound. Outstanding pair of antique early 19thCentury footed English porcelain sauce tureens with handles. Covers and matching underplate stands. Ornately and exquisitely decorated with cobalt blue ground gilding of grape vines, lovely handpainted floral studies and rose handles on the lids, circa 1810-1820 and with no markings but most likely Coalport because of the distinctive Coalport rose handles on the lids. MEASUREMENTS: Each sauce tureen measures 8.5 inches long 5.5 inches wide and stand 6 inches tall the underplates/stands are 9 1/4 inch long and are just over 6 inches wide LET’S TALK CONDITION: Excellent condition for the age with these issues one of the roses on the lid has a small flake to a petal the other rose on the other lid has a missing petal that occurred during the manufacturing process. The lid with a inside rim has an old chip ... moreto the rim, and one underplate/stand has three very small(less than 1/4 inch long) and very hard to see hairline glaze cracks that do not go through the porcelain(see last photos) there are no other chips or cracks no repairs, no discoloration, no glaze crackling or exterior stains, one of the sauce tureens has a small stain on the inside. Overall very clean and one of the best examples of early 19thCentury English porcelain craftsmanship I have seen in a long time. As always. Antique Mid 1800s English Solid SATINWOOD Inlaid Marquetry Night Stand Table
This is an antique nightstand that is made of solid wood and appears to be satinwood. The stand has a drawer that is hand dovetailed in the front and the back. The dovedails are very fine and have an inscribed mark remaining from when the craftsman originally laid out his work. There is a finely inlaid checkered accent around the drawer front as well as the front of the legs. There is also an inlaid design in the center of the front door. The stand is topped with a piece of marble that measures 14" x 14-1/2" The marble is not cracked or chipped. But does show wear consistent with age. The stand measures 33-3/4" tall x 15-1/2" wide 14-3/4" deep. All of the wood is solid on the piece- there is no laminated wood or plywood. The screws in the brass hardware appear to be machine made and I estimate that the piece dates ... moreto the mid 1800's and was made in England. The piece overall is in excellent condition for its age. There is minimal wear consistent with age and some age cracks in the wood. The joints are tight and there do not appear to be any repairs to the piece. The back piece of wood on the stand does have a large crack as seen in the photos.
