Vintage Solid Oak English Victorian Heavily Carved Quality Hall Chair Antique This auction is for a beautiful solid oak Victorian hall chair from England. It is in good shape for it's age with only minor issues. It is pretty sturdy but I would not suggest that this be used on a regular basis. It was not made to be sat in by people that are as big as we are these days. It is very well carved. It measures 36 inches tall and 14 inches wide. The seat measures 18 inches off of the ground. And is 14 inches deep and 14 inches wide. The back rest measures 18 inches tall off of the seat. This is a great chair that will display well in any home. I don't know the exact age of the chair but I would think it is from the late 1800's to early 1900's. Vintage or Antique Hall Borchert Adjustable Cast Iron Paw Foot Dress Form
This is a truly great old dress form stand. It does not have the actual form. It is just the stand for it. I think some people repurpose these for lamps or bird cages and it would be very unique for either one. The old cast iron base has embossing on each leg. They are embossed with Hall Borchert Dress Form Co. New York, and Chicago. The paw feet sit on top of small casters for rolling the form around. There is an old cast iron pedal that is in working condition and is used to release the lock for raising and lowering the stand. The iron pole at it's lowest point is 40 inches from the floor to the tip. When raised to its maximum height it is 65.5 inches from the floor. The cast iron base of the stand measures about 18 inches from the tip of one foot to the tip of the opposite foot, just to give you an idea of the size. Another amazing creation by Tennessee Artisan Sissy. This was a Maple Armoire that was very sturdy but had no pizazz. Sissy saw it for what it could be. What we have now is a contemporary piece that is sure to make any home brighter. Place it in the master bedroom or in the hall for guest's coats. Up for auction is this rare. Trinity Hall door knocker. Highly doubt you will ever find another! Crescent on a shield and reads, Trinity Hall ad 1350, which is when the collage was built. It is 4 1/2 inches tall and almost 2 inches wide. There is a lot of info online, that I've been researching. I strongly believe that this came from Trinity Hall in Cambridge UK. The dorm rooms burnt down in 1901 or so, cause was an electrical fire. Due to the patina and way it was built, I would say It's from the late 1800's. It is in great useable condition with lite normal wear and aged. Fine American Antique Coin Silver Sugar Tongs Hall & Hewson Albany Syracuse NY
This is a very rare pair of coin silver sugar tongs made by Hall& Hewson. Probably in the 1819 or in the 1820's in Syracuse or Albany NY. These tongs are highly unusual in that they are boldly shaped with a dramatic taper from back to sides. The touchmark on one side is very faint. But. When viewed closely you can see that it starts with"HAL" and ends with"WSON" with illegible areas in between. I am absolutely certain that the touchmark is that of Hall& Hewson. The tongs are about 6 1/2" long by 1 1/5" wide(at the widest) by 1 1/2" tall(at the tall back) The back has a monogram which may be"LHR" but I'm not entirely sure. The tongs weigh over 60 grams of 90% coin silver. Condition of the tongs is great with no major problems. Just the light touchmark, which is partially worn away ... moreby repeated cleanings over a nearly 200 year old life. These rare NY tongs would make a great addition to your coin silver collection!

Gothic revival furniture in America was an adaptation of Gothic architectural form and ornament. Albion Antiek Antique Bell Jar Lantern 19th. Century Purple Glass Lamp- Rare Color This listing is for a beautiful original antique early 19th century glass bell jar lantern lamp. This lantern comes with its smoke shield and is a beautiful very dark purple amethyst color(the lid is lighter in color but I do believe it is the original smoke shield for this lantern) It retains its original brass fittings and chain. The shield measures 10-3/8" across and the bell jar measures 9-5/8" high and 8-1/2" across. Condition is good. There are manufacturing flaws and irregularities in the glass(air bubbles and lines and folds in the glass on the lid. These are not cracks or damages but happened in the making) The glass has a few air bubbles that were broken through on the surface but there are no chips or cracks and no repairs. Pedestal, some feet) c. 1825 and significantly rebuilt in the 20th Century Item# 12001078208 This is a beautiful decorative work. Crafted using old parts to lend originality and age to the table as it was crafted for a second time during the 20th Century. It features a broad solid black and gray marble top, resting over a new mahogany veneered top with pine plywood secondary woods, attaching to the head of the base with screws from beneath. The pedestal itself appears to be of the period, probably c. 1825, a wonderful gesso decorated and gilt highlighted work of art that is wrapped in a bulbous leafed palmetto formation over a ring turned base. This tenons into the triangular Lion Footed mahogany ... moreveneered base. Most of the feet are rebuilt, though after one original foot to maintain the integrity of the design. While this is not a collector quality work. This is an affordable work with significant character and age throughout. An original Gueridon of this style would be prohibitively priced, making this the perfect selection of a decorator with a budget looking for the depth of an original without the cost. Measurements: 36" wide x 29 1/4" high Condition Report: 1. Severely distressed gilt with exposed and damaged gesso on pedestal. 2. Numerous chips to marble top around the edge(all photographed in the slideshow) 3. Composed of old parts. Meaning portions of this table were originally a period Gueridon table, probably damaged significantly which led to it being overhauled: Round top is not original. Most feet are rebuilt(one looks like it is original) regilded, the top of the pedestal is 20th century, the marble is probably later too. 4. Feet have some mismatched veneer. One of the 100 first Braille Typewriters ever produced! After the successful introduction of various typewriters for everybody else. Blind individuals needed a machine to write Braille too. Up to this point, the students at the School for the Blind and everybody else who wanted to write Braille had to use"writing boards" through which writing was performed by pushing one or more of the six points of Braille in reverse with a pin through holes in the board. Superintendent of the School for the Blind. Frank Haven Hall, invented around 1890 a machine to write Braille instead of normal letters. Hall's invention was built by Gunsmith and Machinist Gustav Sieber and completed ... morein 1892. Hall took Sieber's prototype to the Munson Typewriter Company in Chicago. Where Superintendent T.B. Harrison and designer Samuel J. Seifried created six pilot models, delivering them to Hall on May 27th, 1892. Munson Typewriter manufactured an additional lot of 94 machines for Hall. Harrison and Seifried soon left Munson and began manufacturing the braillewriter full time, along with the Hall Stereotyper and later a tactile map making machine. When the partnership dissolved. Samuel Seifried continued the business until his death in 1912. The Cooper Manufacturing Company took over the braillewriter. When M.B. Skinner bought Cooper in 1921, the Hall Braille Writer was re-designed and continued to be sold until Cooper sold the design, dies, and tools to the American Foundation for the Blind around 1930. AFB assembled a few additional machines from parts in stock, but at the same time was developing its own machine, the Foundation Writer. Surprisingly fast In 1892.
