This lovely 19th century Hat/ Coat ... moreRack features beautiful two toned walnut.Pierced carvings& rosettes, 7 turned hat/ coat pegs and a sweet little lift up storage compartment below the mirror. This hall rack measures 52 1/2 inches in height.33 inches wide and 7 1/4 inches in total depth and weighs approximately 25 lbs. The mirror portion measures 16 1/4 inches high by 9 1/2 inches wide. Each of the turned hat coat hooks protrude out 5 3/4 inches and the little storage compartment measures 14 1/4 inches wide by 6 inches deep. This hall rack would be a wonderful addition placed at an entrance way to keep those jackets and coats handy. And the little lift up compartment would be a neat place to toss those car keys to keep them handy when needed. This does have an old wire back for easy placement on the wall. A splendid piece of 19th century craftsmanship that can be incorporated into about any home to offer great function with grand style and elegance. Estate find. Nice antique dual post wooden coat tree/coat rack. Stands 79" high and is 13 5/8" wide. Two of the hooks look original. Another is original but broke and the 4th should just go. Very nice patina on wood but the former owner thought they were handy and did a poor job trying to steady the bottom of one of the posts. The rack is still steady. NOTE: One of the steel hooks looks to have been replaced at some point in the past(SEE PHOTOS#7 and#8) The hook is exactly the same as the other three. But the"ware/patina" is not at the point of the other hooks. Other than that, there's just your typical 100 years of"general ware" I can not tell for certain what wood is used. I believe it's either oak or chestnut. Measures 70" tall overall. The post is 2-1/2" x 2-1/4" and the base(leg width) measures 23-1/2" across. Antique 1900's Ball Stick Arts & Crafts Solid Oak Hall Tree Coat Rack Seat WOW!!
Up or auction is an INCREDIBLE antique late 1890's-1920's Arts& Crafts Ball& Stick solid oak hall tree. This is a wonderful example of ball and stick design. There are 5! beveled glass mirrors and wonderful carvings to go with the top. Middle and lower ball& stick galleries. So much work went into this. There is a hammered brass umbrella stand with barley twist bars to hold the tops. There are WONDERFUL Eastlake style coat hangers all present and matching. The are mounted to turned wood disks that float with sticks inside a wood frame. There is a real show piece hand carved oak detail of raised rectangles at the main center that is just incredible to think it was hand carved. Two matching sun ray designs are above and below the mirror. Lastly there is a wonderful little drawer below the seat with telling joinery that dates ... morethis to the machine age. The corner joints are routered pins and holes in half round circles(Anyone who knows the name of this joinery I would love to know) This piece measures 83" tall x 29" wide x 16" deep. It is not a huge piece. In fact I believe the top crown to have been added to give height to this piece. I only have a very slight color change to go by and VERY WELL may be wrong but perhaps the house this was going into needed a little more height. There are little flame points at the top and ball and stick with the square posts matching perfectly so it is an old addition if at all. You can see how it would look with out it as this comes right out of its four mount holes. This is a piece to see in person. I would never hold you to an auction for a piece of furniture that you only saw pictures of. Feel free to bid and if this piece isn't as incredible to you and I think it is. There is a lovely antique beveled triangular mirror here which really sets this piece off design wise. I do see deterioration to the original mirror. The piece is intricately appliqued in a dark oak. I do see a few pieces missing here on the ends but in no way does it detract from the beauty of this piece.I've pictured this in the last 2 photo's. TWO GREAT ITEMS FOR ONE PRICE! Description: This small table and the pamphlet or letter rack came from the waiting room of the home office of a local Doctor who was an old General Practitioner. Remember when a ton of Doctors had their office and examination rooms in their house? He passed away in the early 1980s but his wife and daughter kept a lot of the things in the same place they sat for years. I also have a nice mid-century magazine rack from his office for sale in a separate listing. I suppose I could have split these two pieces up but they stood together in the same spot for so many decades I thought they should stick together. I believe that the rack was used to hold pamphlets but I think they are just the right size and would look great together in someone’s front hall to hold mail and maybe a nice bowl for keys etc. on the table. ... moreThe table appears to be made of walnut and the surface has a lot of that orange peel texture you find on a lot of period pieces. The rack looks like it could have been made locally and made to match the table as they look like they have been together forever. Here's a FANTASTIC antique hall tree/ coat rack/ seat bench from the late Victorian or early Edwardian period. I'd say it was made c1890s to c1910. It's in EXCELLENT condition with it's original hardware. Finish and handsome beveled class mirror. The seat lifts for a storage area, however the bottom section within is mission and can easily be replaced for resumed use and not be at all visible either way unless one lifts up the seat. If this were for sale at an antiques store it would easily be priced over $450 to $550 and is worth every bit of that. It came from an old New England home. Antique 1800's Eastlake- Iron Hook Wood Wall Hat Coat Rack Hall Tree Cane Shelf- Some pics with camera flash and some pics without camera flash- Rack measures 30" across x 7" high- Here is a very nice eastlake style rack. As you can tell from my title description it can be used for many things but was not exactly sure what to call it.I belive the wood is a walnut but i am not positive. all 5 hooks look to be cast iron and are all very solid.The hooks all swivel to the right and left, they are not stationary but do stay in place. Hooks have no cracks, breaks, or hairlines fractures and should hold fast for many more years,i have put considerable pressure on each hook to see how well they hold and they all were able to take a good amount of weight,rack has 4 white porcelain knobs at each corner i assume for decoration. Two side panel prints are decorated with hanging dead game birds Woodcock. Quail, and Dove Scene on one side and Rabbit and Grouse Scene on the other side. The dead game prints both show some water damage at the bottom edge. There is a lot of damage to the wooden frame such as many marks, scratches, abrasions, scuffs, cuts, stains, and very small dry wood cracks and chips. It still retains the original hangers but a few of the screws holding them on have been replaced. The inside middle panel section is a mirror with no cracks and no chips but it does have discoloration. The left side panel section of the 3 birds has clear glass covering it with no cracks and no chips but the right side panel section is missing the glass. Peaks and turns. In the center is an oval mirror. The mirror appears to be original. No cracks or chips to the mirror. The silvering shows some streaks from age(see pics) Attached shelf at the bottom. There are 7 extended turned wood poles for hanging hats or coats. At the bottom tip there is a chip in the wood. Magnificent Antique Victorian Hallstand hall rack LOOK!
Wow. This is probably the most unusual Victorian hall rack you will ever see. This was probably custom made and one of a kind. Looks like it was made in England but thats just a guess. Made of heavy walnut with marble shelf. This rack will accommodate coats on the two end coat racks with revolving hooks, hats, gloves, and umbrellas. It does it all. I purchased this years ago and its time for it do go. Just don't have the room anymore. It stands 89 inches tall WITHOUT the top finial. With the top finial its 101 inches tall. The widest point is the bottom at 5 feet across. Its not quite flawless as the is a chip in the marble as seen in the photo, and there are minor differences in the large finials. Looks like the small ball finial is missing on a few of the large finials as shown in the photos. In general its a solid 9 out of 10 as far ... moreas condition. Its incredibly made which accounts for its heavy weight. Again, this is why I think its english as its overbuilt. Has two tall coat racks on the ends as shown and they are still intact. Buyer MUST pick up or make proper arrangements to pick this up as its heavy and cumbersome. Pleas do not bid on this and expect me to make arrangements to ship it, I have sold many large objects and have had problems with people picking them up. Antique Victorian Solid Oak Framed Oval Beveled Mirrored Wall Hall Hat Rack Tree
This is a fantastic original Victorian mirrored hat rack with heavy solid oak frame and beveled oval mirror in the center. It is in very good condition overall. But the large curvy arms on the top two hooks have been removed, leaving just the two smaller hooks on each side of the top. They are fully functional and still attractive as-is, and unless closely inspected, look like they were made that way. All four hooks are intact on both sides of the bottom. The oak frame has a rich dark color and bold grain. All joints are tight and the frame is solid and sturdy. The mirror has some light streakiness and cloudiness, but images still look clear throughout. There is an area of missing silver(shown in the photos) where a piece of the original wood back panel is missing and the silver got scraped off. There are two metal hangers screwed onto the ... moretop edge of the back for wall mounting. The outer measurements of the frame are 28 1/2" W x 21" H.
