This is a fantastic antique hall mirror hat rack with three large curvy double hooks. The frame has been refinished in mahogany and is in excellent condition. The mirror is beveled. Has no cracks or chips, but has some streakiness and cloudiness throughout due to age. There is a newer cardboard backing and two hangers attached to the back for wall hanging. Unusual and lovely find. Antique wall coat and hat rack. It is an original. And not very common; even the single ones are becoming rare. Beautiful. Long, iron stylized hooks on the top tier; I believe these were for gentlemen's hats. Large in size- 33" long- a real show piece. The wood is oak and as the original finish on it. The hooks can be folded over out of the way when not in use. There originally were 5 long on the top. But one must have been lost, so a bottom one was moved up. I did not notice at first, and then thought it was for a corner wall, but no, there is one missing from the bottom. Rack is approximately 33 by 7" wide in measurements. It appears to be very old but I'm not sure when it was made and there are no makers marks or labels. I have only found one hall tree anywhere like this on the internet. It was made by Clipper Shaft Co but it is different than this one, especially the inside parts. This has dark stained wood. But not sure exactly what wood. Cast Brass hooks and metal workings inside. Wear and patina on the wood surfaces including some white spots on the base feet. It's not in bad shape but would be more beautiful refurbished. It is missing a finial on the top. Fully functional, sturdy, beautiful period piece. Pole width: 3" Depth: 2 5/8" height: 71.5" Extends ... moreto a 36" across hanging bar for coats. Stands alone looking like a traditional coat tree. You have two hooks that you undo and press down on the piece of flat metal holding the bases together. Then just start pulling apart while raising the top bar, the bottom extends and locks into place. You slide the top bar up past the"clip" that springs back and then keeps the bar from falling. Leans a little, so maybe the spring metal piece had more to it than what's there now-but it works. Now you have a coat rack for all your guests! 1800's antique cherry stick and ball hall mirror hat and coat rack philadelphia
for sale about the nicest stick and ball hall mirror. Hat, coat rack i have ever owned. it is presented in its original finish. i do not believe there is a piece missing anywhere and if there is any damage of any kind it is so small i have over looked it. at any rate, a wonderful cherry stick and ball hanging mirror with hat and coat hooks, 6 or them. the mirror is bad, however, it is original. if i sell it and the new owner wants me to remove the old silver and back the old glass with a new mirror i will do so for the cost of a new mirror. that would be less than 20 dollars, probably about 12.00. the mirror is 12 inches by 12 inches. the piece is 32 inches wide and 24 inches tall. it has a nicely carved crest at the top. all the fret work is perfect as far as i can tell. the very nice all brass hooks are 4 inches long and a couple have minor ... morebends in them, which could be corrected with little effort. the back over the mirror was a bit loose so i took it off so i could re nail it. in doing so, i discovered and newspaper which was the philadelphia ledger and was dated like 1884 i think, it should show in the picture i have listed. anyway, this paper was folded to keep the mirror from moving within the frame. i do not know if that was placed there when the piece was made and done so at a later date. at any rate, the mirror probably was made or originated in or about philadelphia. it is a fantastic piece, the pictures are terrible, it is 100 times nicer in person. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyers expense. i expect it will go usps for about 30 or 40.00. good luck

Antique Victorian Tiger Stripe Triangle 3 Hook Entry Wall Hall Mirror Hat Rack
This is a beautiful and unique triangular mirrored hat rack from right around the turn of the 20th century. The mirror is thick. In very good condition with no silver loss(just a few tiny black spots) and has hand scalloped edges. Each of the three mirror corners is covered with an elegant brass ormolu overlay. The brass corners are nailed down with small rounded top nails, but two of the nails have been replaced with newer, larger ones. The wooden frame is smooth and contoured with a nice tiger stripe finish. The finish is in good condition overall with some chips and scuffs, most of which have been touched up, as shown in the photos. There is still some visible chipping where one of the hooks meets the frame, and it could easily be touched after removing the hook. All three hooks look original. There is a replacement paper backing and a ... morethin hanging wire. The outer measurements of the frame are 26 3/4" W x 14" H. It will be packed very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

Large, antique, early 1900s, bentwood hall tree that stands approximately 81" tall- 6ft, 9" Not sure what the wood is. But it's dark. I could not find a maker's name. But appears to be a THONET piece of furniture. It's put together with large screws that you can see on the outside. And what appear to be wooden plugs on the inside of the curved legs. I'm pretty sure the top finial has been replaced at some time. As it is not attached and just sits in the hole. It is a very good match to the rest of the piece. The very bottom finial has what looks to be a stress crack. And two of the legs are coming away from the center post. These two legs are across from each other and must be one piece of ... morewood- move one and the other one moves too. Not sure why they have seperated as the screws are tight. One of the small balls around the top has been replaced as it is perfectly round. Where they other ones have a flat bottom, and it also looks black. It's screwed in and could be replaced if wanted. It's a nice heavy wood(weighs 14 pounds) I'm not sure what kind of wood but it has a dark finish. Like mahogany. It measures 70 5/8" tall and the base is diagonally 21 1/4" x 21 1/4" The base is marked"Globe" on the column, right above the base) The Globe Wernicke sticker is mostly removed from under the base, but a small piece is still intact, that says"Cincinnati" where the company was based) At the top are 4 coat/hat hooks. Up for auction is an Antique William Tonks& Sons Coat rack or Hall tree. Has a goat or ram's head in center. 5-white porcelain knobs, torch on top, wreath around neck of ram, and hooks are embossed. On back it is stamp with an eight point sun with the letters W.T.S. which dates it to 1869-1900 made in England. It is cast brass, measuring 12" tall by8.5" wide by 5" off the wall.
