This ids a stunning antique handmade Arts and Crafts brass and iron umbrella/ cane stand pot. it has an abundance of intricate detailing and very well made. the iron parts have a stunning patina from age and is hand hammered with intricate floral detailing done in high relief. there are several dome bubble shaped pieces of brass overlaid on the iron parts. the base. Top, and mid band are made from hand hammered brass and nicely shaped. it measures 23 inches tall 10 3/4 inches wide. it is a very old piece and has normal ware. there are dings throughput but gives it nice character. No big dents. and there is a couple cracks at the top lip. Refer to pics. The top is 10" across with a 7 1/4" opening. It is free from any chips and cracks, but does have light crazing on it. You can't see it unless your close to the piece. Carved position having surrounding gold motifs going upward and downward to their unique feet. The upper having scalloped surrounding this entire top as shown. This is truly gorgeous. and certainly a showpiece in itself. Vintage Antique Mission Style Arts & Crafts Umbrella Cane Hall Stand
Here is a great looking Mission Arts& Crafts Style Umbrella/ Cane Stand. It is quite large. Measures about 28" tall and 13 3/8" square. I am uncertain as to the origin or age of this stand but believe it might be earlier 1900's. Stand is in very nice shape but does show normal age appropriate wear- some scuffs/scratches in the finish, one area(shown in pic) on one leg where the finish has been scratched, and it does appear that a repair has been made on one of the top pieces(shown in last picture) Originally thought it was a scratch until further inspection- honestly don't think it is noticable. The rest appears to be all original finish, and worn areas can be seen in the finish especially on the top. This stand has 4'sections' in it. Sturdy stand was made by the BOMBAY COMPANY back in the 1980'S. These stands have hence been discontinued. It measures 28.5" tall with a base of 13" in diameter. The base and trunk are wood with a mahogany veneer. The base has a 10" antique brass overlay. Towards the top is a round 9" diameter, antique brass 2" tubing that holds the canes/umbrellas upright. The top mahogany handle is 3.5" in diameter. This handsome stand is in very good vintage condition. The brass does show signs of tarnish that may or may not come off. This Asian style umbrella/cane crock/stand is 24" tall. 9" in diameter and has a thickness of 3/4" There are no chips anywhere but there are some firing flaws, a glaze crack, pic# 5& 6) cannot be felt with a fingernail, several rust spots, under glaze rust spots, a good indicator of age) and other defects on the inside that are common to the period this is from. When stuck with a knuckle, this has a very nice tone, which indicates that it is a sound piece. I am selling this for the widow of a friend of mine who used to own an antique shop in Florida 30 years ago. Here is a vintage or antique brass stand for umbrellas. Walking sticks, canes, etc. This is an estate sale find from a home with many antiques and nice furnishings. I don't know its age but it looks old, is well made and has a heavy cast iron base. It is also a space saver and will fit against a wall with its semi-circle shape. There are 3 finials and four separate sections at the top. Overall this piece is in excellent condition. The brass has some patina and needs polishing(has some green marks-see photos) The iron base has very minor wear from where the umbrellas hit the base. Sold as found. It was originally made to hold milk when the cor herds would go up to the alps and milk the cows on the meadows. They would carry the milk in this item strapped to their back. Nowadays. These items are also used for a myriad of purposes. It is carved and decorated on the outside in a type of notch carving and the carved boards are held together with an intertwined wooden band. The wood has a nice rich patina and this item has a higher handle so it could also hang on a wall and be filled with straw flowers. It is composed of many carved slats to give it this oval shape and one has ... moreshrunk slightly so there is a small opening between two slats. This happened in Colorado because of the dryness so it probably wouldn't hold liquids anymore but this could also be remedied by wetting the boards. This beautiful wood carved umbrella stand without the handle is 18" high and with the handle it is 24.5" high and on the top it is 13" wide and 7" deep and on the bottom it is 14" wide and 8" deep. This old hearth accessory is 23" tall with a base that is 9-3/4" wide x 7-3/4" deep. It features a heavily decorated base, post and top arm, three 2" long arched feet, and an opening at the top of the post. On the back of the center post it shows a patent date of Nov 5. 1872.
