PR c1880s Victorian Architectural Newel Post Finials, Carved Wood
A nice pair of antique Victorian era newel Post Finials. The Finials are made of wood. The beehive design is oak and the other is Mahogany. The Oak finial measures 5 1/2" high x 4 5/8" in diameter across the flat bottom. The Mahogany Finial is 5" high x 4 1/2" across the bottom excluding the mounting peg. Both are in good overall condition and retain the original finish. The only thing to note is normal wear including small nicks on the Beehive design and a dent in the other finial, see photos. Impressive Cast Iron Brass Bronze Newel Post Finial Victorian Eastlake Victorian
Fantastic. Impossible to find something similar item. Stands 12-5/8 tall with a sq base 4-3/4" The ball is approx. 5-1/4 in dia. Was obviously off an outside cast iron fence post,ther is rust pitting around the bottom edge where it was locked down and retained water in the gap. It does not detract from its awesome look. Use it as a stand alone decorative piece or mount it to a post inside or out. I pack well and usually ship out quickly,check my feedback and other listings for more great items.
