See all photos) DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION: This antique vestment set is unusually ornate and sometimes considered religious art. The Chasuble is made of what appears to be crinkly satin/rayon panels with black velvet insets. Trimmed in beige and black borders. The front is approximately 35 inches in length and the back panel which is longer is approximately 43 inches measured from the top of the shoulder. The back center panel is of black rich velvet with the most exquisite metallic dove(representing the Holy Spirit) in a 3-D effect at the top center. It appears to be beautiful hand work. The dove image with total rays is approximately 9 ½ in diameter. In overall excellent condition considering the age. No tears or stains. What might appear to be discoloration on the left edge is only a shadow. Item would benefit from a professional dry cleaning. The Stole. Made of the same matching black velvet, trimmed in delicate off-white ribbon, and has a cross near the bottom of each side in the same off-white material.
