These tiles measure 1-inch wide x 6 inches long by about 1/4 inch thick. I'm starting this sale with 5 sets of 20. The blue glaze is especially sumptuous and there is some crazing. These are cameo tiles of Abe Lincoln. They measure 3 1/2 inches across the points and the Lincoln castings are finely detailed. Condition is good for very old tiles. They have some chipping on the back edges but not bad. The tiles display nicely and would be great for creative projects. The are white and and early Ameican blue in person. This periwinkle blue glazed stoneware tile has a bright white cameo style image of Abraham Lincoln attached to the surface in relief. The piece measures 3" edge to edge and 3 1/2" point to point. The tile is 1/2" thick. Including the Lincoln image. The tile is 3/4" thick. The maker of the tile is on the underside. As well as a political inscription. The tile reads as follows: The Mosaic Tile Company Trade Mark Zanesville. Ohio, U.S.A. Compliments of H.A. Hughes Rep. District No. 48 IOOF Zanesville. Ohio. Impressive. Clean and lovely tile. Very scarce, especially ... morewith the political inscription. I am not sure of the age of the tile, but I found political material about Mr. Hughes dating back to 1920. The font style looks to be Art Deco, so around 1920 sounds pretty accurate. There is a similar tile(without the political inscription) on display at the Brooklyn Museum, in their Decorative Arts section. And wouldn't you know it? This one here is in better condition! The only flaw is a chip in one corner. Which may have occurred during manufacturing. Regardless, it still displays very well. Would make a lovely paperweight. Mosaic Tile Company Antique Hand Decorated Folk Art Tiles This auction is for 4 antique hand decorated tiles from the Mosaic Tile Co. of Zanesville. OH. Each is 6"x6" square. All are in good condition for their age with no cracks, large chips, or repairs. There is dark staining to the backs on some of the tiles and some remnants of a cloth type wall hanger. I'm not very certain of the concept behind these tiles, but 3 appear to be hand decorated and have a glaze. One(which looks like the state of Ohio) is hand-painted, but not glazed. You can see the image is smudged. Please review all photos. One tile appears to be a cabin and I can barely make out"beach house used in. and the beginning of"18. which appears to be a year(this is barely decipherable across the bottom) The other looks to be the state of Ohio and is the ... moreone that is smudged and unglazed. This is a wonderful tile made by Mosaic Tile Co. Zanesville, OH. It is a 6" tile and it dates from 1954. It is a great example of the types of commemorative tiles they produced on commission. Vintage Mosaic Castle Tile-8 Sided
Unknown tile maker. Attributed to Mosaic Tile Company Circa 1920-1930's This vintage 8-sided tile was made using the raised line method and has seven or eight matte glaze colors. It has a wonderful depiction of a castle with clouds in the background and a nice landscape scene in the foreground. It is a well-made tile, we don't know for sure who made this, but feel it could be from Mosai c. The clay looks like what we've seen on Mosaic Tile Co.s work. It measures 7" x 7" x 7/16" thick. In very good condition; has 3 tiny edge chips.

This tile was made by the Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville Ohio in circa 1900. The tile is 6 inches by 6 inches. It has a scene of“the Lion in Love” from aesops Fables. The tile is marked on the back with Mosaic. 29 and has another word on the left side that we can not read. There are some tiny chips along the edges. There is no other damage.
