Beautiful rare antique Merkel hand painted porcelain tile of a young boy in excellent condition in a lovely original gold frame with crown molding detail. Great detail and color. No chips. Crazing, cracks or losses of any kind. Label on back of tile reads KUMSTINSTITUT FUR PORZELLAN MALEREI MERKEL-HEINE WIESBADEN. There is an impressed mark 115 and hand written in pencil 1489. There is also a handwritten label which I am unable to read and have pictured. I believe it may be the artist. Labels at the edge attach the tile to the frame. These labels are for Foster Brothers, 4 Park Square, Boston. The gold cardboard backing is held in place with brass nails. It is secure but some of the nails are missing. Vintage Ceramic Hand Painted Renaissance Tiles 1/2 x 4 3/4 x 14 1/4" Age unknown MADE IN ITALY THIS INFO WAS SENT TO ME FROM ANOTHER VIEWER-Maker Francesco Castellini-Born in 1890 in Faenza Francesco Castellini. Brother of Ezio himself a painter and ceramist, enters young to work in manufacturing glazed pottery of the brothers Minardi. At the death of the last heir of the factory in 1913, along with some colleagues, including Louis Masini, detects the premises and equipment and continues the activity. Since 1917 Castellini and Masini remain the sole owners and change the name to" Castellini and Masini. In 1922, this alliance is to melt, Castellini opens own studio in the back of his home by his brother helped Ezio and the pieces that come out of his furnace are marked with the initials FC. Subsequently he obtained the chair of ceramic ... moredecoration at night school in the city. In 1923 Francesco Castellini, Ezio and his brother Luigi Masini return to work and establish" Faventia Ars"whose brand, which consists of two C and M separated by a peacock feather, it is designed by the painter Malmerendi. This is a hand-painted framed Dutch tile. The entire piece is 4-7/8" square and the tile is approximately 3" square. It is signed with what looks like J. Gids. It features a traditional image of windmills and houses. The paint is cracked. There are three tiny round dots of paint that has flaked off- these appear as three white dots in the photos. The black lacquer frame has some very minimal signs of wear. But, overall is in good condition. It is covered in the back with black paper. There is a paper Made in Holland label on the back. Hello and welcome For sale are these wonderful pair of framed hand painted porcelain/Glass? tiles. The glass tiles are decorated with sparrows and tree branches with flowers. The colors are soft pink. Blue, green, red, teal and browns. The tiles are in rectangular gold leaf. Appear to be wooden frames with areas of missing gold leaf paint. On the back of frames it says: To remove cello-phane cover wet well all with sponge wait one minute before removing to avoy damage gold leaf. They measure 3-1/2" x 7-1/2" x 1"deep. and the tiles measure 7" x 5" The glass tiles fit tightly into the backs of the frames and are covered with a paper backing and have been framed by the Verilyn Gallery. Up for bid are these fabulous Art Deco hand painted 9" plates by American artist Anna Rohn Krauss born in 1865(or possibly 1863. Works from this artist are scarce. The plates are a wonderful estate sale find from Hanover. Pennsylvania. Art Deco styled hand painting on Bavaria Schumann China. Each plate has a different design but all 6 share the same boarder. The colors are vibrant and each plate has areas of gold painting. Hand signed on the back by the artist and dated 1935. Condition is excellent, no chips, cracks or discoloration. This hand painted porcelain/ceramic trivet was painted by the artist. CharlotteYeatts, in 1930-1940 and given as a gift to a relative in Pennsylvania. It is in very good condition for the amount of use it has had as a hot plate. The diameter is 5 1/2" and the height is 3/4" There are 3 green ball feet to support the tile. There are no scratches or chips or signs of wear or fading of color. The underside is not glazed and is rougher. I am not certain what the material is. It is lightweight. ~Hand Painted Large Tile Signed by Marzig~ This is such a beautiful tile. She is hand painted with the colors of orange, yellow, red, and green. Her headdress is painted with gold. The tile is 13 1/4 inches high and 13 1/4 inches long. The tile in made in Venezuela, and the signer is Marzig. The tile is from my fathers estate, and he hung it on the wall. The tile had red felt backing, but I removed it, to see where the tile came from. He traveled worldwide and the tile comes from a smoke free home. I tried looking who the signer of the tile was and the only name could be Claudine Marzig. But I am not sure. I will send this item out with insurance, and a tracking number. Angelo one picture is of flowers in a vase with a plate and bowl that picture has a sticker on it that that says original hand painted and the other one is also a flower vase with a candle in candle holder with a bowl they are both in vintage gold gilt wood shadow box frames with metal hangers on back.
