The frame was made by Vollman Woodworking and is mitered and quartersawn white oak. This excellent display of this fine antique Art Tile is an hairloom that could be passed on for years to come. Size: frame is 10 1/8" by 10 1/8" frame is 3/4" Thick. Tile 6" by 6" Condition: Good to Very Good- There are no cracks or repairs to the tiles front surfaces. There are some nips to the rim of the tile. Crazing throughout and abrasions to some of the high spots on the surface. This is a great Ceramic Tile with a Tropical Fish Motif and artist signed from Gladding McBean in the Hermosa Tile line. It has a great Mid Century style wire frame and the tile measures approx 6 1/8" x 6 1/8" and with the frame approx 10" x 10" There is a little bit of rust on the frame and on the back of the tile there are some minor glaze chips.the surface of the tile has a tiny glaze pinpoint mark at edge of base that is also very minor and not seen in frame at all. I cannot be sure of the age. the back of the tile looks very fresh but this is not necessarily a reason to dismiss the fact that it was made during the American Arts and Crafts period(1890-1915) Also sometimes know as the Mission or Stickley era. Circa 1879 Wedgwood“September” ceramic 6” X 6” wall tile in a nice black frame. This intense blue and white tile(so intense that it gives the transfer an almost flow blue look) comes from the“Old English 12 Months Series” drawn by Victorian artist Helen J.A.Miles( NOT Kate Greenaway as some erroneous ebay listings have stated) The tile is in great condition for it s age. There are no chips or cracks. Only the normal small stress fractures chara cteri stic of something this old. The tile is set in a black frame that is in g ood condition. Helen Miles was a freelance illustrator of the same era who designed the Old English or Calendar series of tiles for Josiah Wedgwood. As well as illustrating multiple children's books. Vintage Japanese Hand-Painted. Hard Paste Porcelain Decorative Tiles This is a beautiful example of Japanese art made of white paste porcelain. There are two(2) tiles inside the frame. The design of a river boatman is hand painted in vibrant colors with a white background. It also has what I believe is the original frame. I asked several Asian friends about the age. And they could not place a period, but all felt that it was pre-WWII. These tiles are in good condition for their age. Other than normal wear and tear, especially on the frame. This plaque is signed Wagner lower right. Depicting Ruth in all her beauty, the quality of this masterpiece is exquisite, you can see every little detail in this hand painted plaque. Just look at the photos of her hair, so fine. The plaque is in its original Florentine frame which is quite large at 20" tall and very three dimensional. Size: plaque measures 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" The frame is 20" tall x 15" wide Age: 19th C. possibly early 20th C. Condition: The plaque is in fine condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. When i get the tile in the right light at the right angle you can see some spotting ... moreto the clear protective glaze it's sort of like ghost spotting and I see this on many porcelain plaques, it is not an issue to view the plaque and look at it on a table naturally, just when closely inspected and pivoted at the right angles, if you have owned these plaques before, I believe you know what I am trying to explain. This is usually fixed with a professional porcelain cleaning. The frame was broken badly at one time and someone has reglued and repaired where necessary. It was glued together in the corners slight angle to itself as the tile will not sit down on the rabbet molding level it rocks corner to corner about 3/16" on two high corners. There are several areas that show fractures that were glued and areas of gilt touch up. Overall when placing on a table and viewing the package is gorgeous. The frame needs a little t.l.c. if you want it perfect, the tile is very nice, overall a very nice displayable package. Old Sherwins Tile 'Dog' Set in Metal Frame
Up for your consideration is an old tile by Sherwin. It is a portrait of a dog in raised relief. All in shades of green. It is set in a metal frame with dog paws as feet. It measures 6 1/8 x 6 1/8 which includes the frame. The feet add another inch to the dimensions. The tile has a line crack the runs from the middle of the tile on the right through his snout. There is also a lot of scratches on the raised portion of the tile. One of the feet on the base of this tile is missing, but the tile still stands perfectly on three feet. Old Delft Style Blue & White Oval Tile in Frame - Young Boy and Girl in Forest
This is an absolutely stunning porcelain tile. It is in the blue and white Delft style. It is oval in shape and shows 2 children. A boy and a girl, leaning against a tree in the forest. The tile shows wonderful coloring and depth. It measures 10" tall and 8" wide. It is mounted in a gold colored frame. The frame is rectangular in shape and is made of decoratively carved wood. The tile is attached to the frame with h and made metal square nails. The frame is detailed with scrolls. Flowers and leaves and also has an oval opening. There is some cracking along the edge of the frame(see photos) and the frame probably needs to be cleaned, but overall, it is in wonderful condition. This large tile(plaque) has the year code for 1888(J) and was painted by Petrus Franciscus Vreeswijk. The scene is after a painting by Du Chattel(titled"Hidden Castle" and this tile comes in its original antique wooden frame and stil retains the paper labels on the back from when it was originally purchased in Paris. There is no date on these. So my guess is that these are from the 1950's when Japan started trading with the US a lot. The sticker on the back of one of them says"HB Japan" These are a matched set showing a Victorian dressmaker's shop on one tile and a men's clothing store on the other. Antique Pre-Arts&Crafts Spanish Revival TILE w/BRASS FRAME~T&R Boote~ 7" x 7"
Thomas and Richard Boote were the inventors and patentees of the earliest-first multi-colored tile ever produced. Founded 1842- Central Pottery Burslem Stadffs. 1850 bought Waterloo Potteries. Burslem Staffordshire area. Stopped producing multi colored tiles and concentrated on ordinary white earthenware for the U. S. market. In 1843 they patented a new process of inlaying and ornamenting flooring tiles in different colors. Patent was renewed in 1857 with improvements. Prize medals obtained in 1851 and 1862. Tile measures almost 7 inches square. Does have crazing and a hairline crack. It is cased within a brass/bronze frame. Framing appears to be original to tile and period. Tile Art Picture Hand Painted Signed M. Angelo/ B&S Creations Gilt Wood Frame
UP for sale is these hand painted tile art signed by artist M. Angelo one picture is of flowers in a vase with a plate and bowl that picture has a sticker on it that that says original hand painted and the other one is also a flower vase with a candle in candle holder with a bowl they are both in vintage gold gilt wood shadow box frames with metal hangers on back. The back frame is lined with brown paper on back with B&S Creations New York N.Y. tag back of frame there is red marker on both frames in back also. The frames have wear and it looks like some paint staining on them they both have the round hook hangers on top they 6 1/2 x 6 1/2" and the paper is torn on the back of one. Antique Spanish Tile with Dragons in Wood Frame
Made in Spain early 1900's Here is a colorful antique tile from Spain with images of dragons and long-beaked birds. Set in wood frame- just needs hardware in back to hang. The many glaze colors have a matte finish. The tile is 8x8" and overall measurements are 11 1/4" square x almost 3/4" thick. Very good condition for its age; has corner chip and some minor surface wear.

Trent Tile - Artist Signed - Wood Frame
Selling a small. Artist signed Trent tile in a wood frame. Trent Tile was located in Trenton, New Jersey in the 1890s. The tile itself is 3 1/4" x 6" The wood frame is 6" x 8 1/2" The scene on the tile is of a sail boat with a house in the background. The signature I think is"Wood" and the date of the signature is 1913. The tape backing of the tile has come loose. It still has a seal from Woodward and Lothrop. Woodies was a major store in Washington, DC that is no longer in business. The tile is in good condition. The wood frame needs a little restoration.
