The chest is in particularly good condition, although I am unsure of its exact age. It has the ... moreoriginal labels inside. It does not have any trays, only one main, large compartment. It does have some light surface scratches and wear from general use, but no major damage or gouges. It has beautiful grain, some carved accent details, and is designed in a way that the grain of different sections runs in different directions, which gives it a uniquely beautiful look. It was made by the Roos Company in Illinois, and has a partial original label on the bottom, which has the serial number. The chest is 18.5” tall, 44” long, 19” wide, and 11” deep when the lid is open. It is made to lock, however, there is not a key with it.

I am not positive of the boxes origin but I believe this is Folk Art. There ... moreare hand painted tulips on the edges and hand painted white flowers used in early American art. The measurements are 17 inches wide or long. 9 1/2 inches in height, and 7 1/2 inches deep. The chest/ Box weighs 11 pounds. It does have wear which is to be expected for it's age. The paint on the flowers have faded in some places, there are a few cracks on the wood, one is on the bottom(does not go all the way through, and one is on the inside of the lid. Wood shrinks with age and cracks are normal. There are a few places where wood has chipped off(one on the foot) the lock is missing and there is a heavy patina especially the places that would get the most use(by the handles. The front side has a darker patina(see 2nd picture) than the back side, it was probably sitting up against a wall and was covered on the top. The feet did have felt pads at one time. The rivets(or nails) are old type nails. It is made very well, it is very heavy and sturdy and it closes fine. It is a very beautiful piece whatever its origin is and the paint job is intricate and looks like it was very time consuming. Please email with any questions I will be glad to help. Mid Century Chestnut Wood Small Chest with Drawers Felt Lined Drawers
Small chest of custom made drawers form Elgin. Illinois, mid century, from Chestnut Wood. Purchased in the late 1950's from a cabinet-furniture enthusiast that custom built furniture with drawers. This piece has four drawers each drawer under 2" in depth. Many of his pieces have been stamped with his initials. I have several more of these custom built pieces available from the same estate. I would like to add that the drawers still slide out and in with barely any friction, a dream for those of us that have struggled with aged pieces that do not slide properly with age. Chic 1970'S Spanish Sarreid Brass Table Chest Stand 3 Drawers Hollywood Regency
This is a 3 drawer Sarreid brass Chest of Drawers measuring 19"x19"x19" This chest has patina-ed with time and in order for the brass to reclaim it's sheen one would have to strip the original clear coating off. Repolish the brass and then recoat it with a clear finish. I am not that person. I think this piece is beautiful the way it is. It is well built and definitely holds it's own for a conversation piece. It's missing one of two pieces of hardware on one of it's handles that holds the handle to it's drawer. This piece consists of a brass strap brazed to a 1/4" threaded bolt which then gets a brass acorn(or finish) nut on the inside of the drawer. The handle works without the extra tie. Only it does have a tendency to"teeter" after use and for that reason you may want to replace or repair ... morethis missing piece. Please ask any questions before bidding. The outside has a little finish loss in the one area on top. You could always touch it up with a little light scratch cover or varnish if you wanted to, also a small piece of the bamboo on the one corner is missing which could be replaced with a piece of rounded wood.
