The pieces were designed and crafted by Johnson Carper Furniture Company of Roanaoke for their"Fashion Trend" mid century modern Danish inspired line. The set includes a 5 drawer Chest of Drawers and a 6 drawer Dresser with its original mirror and hardware. It is some times difficult to find a set with the original mirror intact. But this sets includes the mirror and it is in good condition. The drawers have very cool sculpted wooden side pulls that are beautifully crafted. They stand out from the dresser and chest of drawers like wood carvings. Very functional art. Each drawer is solid wood and of dovetailed construction. The top is laminate. It is a wonderful retro ensemble. The Dresser works well as a buffet and the mirror is easily detached. The furniture is ... moresolid. Sturdy and not overly large. Stands on sturdy walnut peg legs with brass caps, has a bottom pullout drawer and is totally original, excellent with just a couple small nicks. Outside measurements are 18 by 40 and stands 20 high. Mid Century Custom Built Small Chest with Drawers Felt Lined Drawers
Small chest of custommade drawers form Elgin. Illinois, mid century. Purchased in the late 1950's from a cabinet-furniture enthusiast that custom built furniture with drawers. This piece has four drawers each drawer under 2" in depth. Many of his pieces have been stamped with his initials. I have several more of these custom built pieces available from the same estate. I would like to add that the drawers still slide out and in with barely any friction, a dream for those of us that have struggled with aged pieces that do not slide properly with age.
