Which consists of a large dresser and a matching chest of drawers. The ... moreset is crafted from an unusual color of wood, which I think might be Pecan as it is lighter in color than most other woods and has a fine grain, somewhat similar to Walnut. The dresser has 8 full size drawers and three smaller drawers on the top. The middle drawer has only a key hole to open it while the others have matching drawer pulls. The drawers all feature dovetailed woodworking. The chest of drawers has 6 full size drawers with the top drawer featuring a lock(the key is included and taped inside of the top drawer and visible in one of the pictures) I'm uncertain if the one key works on both locks but I think they would as the key isn't a complicated design. Both pieces of furniture have glass tops that are in good shape. Both pieces feature designs created on the top by using different colored woods and grain patterns, giving a nice break from the solid color that the main furniture body has. The dresser's top left drawer features the Baker metal logo plaque on the inside. The furniture is in very nice shape but there are a few scratches and scuffs that need pointed out. There is a small square piece of veneer(about 1 inch square) that is missing along the bottom edge of the dresser, a little to the right of center. There are also a deeper scratch on the bottom right leg of the dresser and bottom left leg of the chest of drawers. These are shown in the photos. The furniture would benefit from a good cleaning and possible waxing.I'm not certain what type of cleaning or maintenance would be appropriate. Please look carefully at the photos to get a better idea of the true condition this nice old set is still in.I would guess this dates back to the 60s or early 70s. Beautiful Vintage 1965 Mid-Century Lane Furniture Co Walnut Cedar Hope Chest DESCRIPTION This is a gorgeous Classic Mid-Century Style Cedar Hope Chest by Lane Furniture company out of Alta Vista. Virginia. This is from a very recent Estate Sale and has had only one owner. The warm walnut exterior of the cabinet on this chest/trunk is in amazing condition especially considering it is 50 years old almost to the day. Date Manufactured: 01/15/1965) The inside is lined completely with the aromatic pressure tested Cedar. This Trunk and/or Chest is in excellent condition and is ready to be filled with the hopes and dreams of someone very special. The dimensions of the Chest are 34” X 17” X 21” A nice size that allows it to be utilized in most every room and application. Upon a thorough inspection there are no scratches. Gouges or repairs on the ... morepiece. There are some very very slight indentions that can been seen in the top only if you catch it in the right light. Very hard to see. Lock has been removed for security and recall of all locks for lane cedar chests. A new lock has been ordered and will be sent to buyer. Please take a look at the pictures I have taken as they are an integral part of the description as well. Keep in mind what I sell are mostly antiques and vintage pieces. They have been gone over and cleaned in most cases and even refinished and restored but they are not always perfect.
