The wood is nicely detailed with turned wooden legs. The top of each leg is decorated with a carved flower that interrupts the round sides. Wood if cleaned and oiled will transform. I believe that the seat had fabric covering it at one time as there are small holes all over it. Possibly from staples? This fine piece would look great as a plant stand or even as a stool. It has mounting holes in the cast iron base for mounting it permenantly to a floor or just leave it attched to the existing piece of wood. The stool may be disassembled for shipment. Vintage 4' LANE Cedar Chest w Leather Bench Top & Fancy Wood Inlay AWESOME
For sale is the nicest Lane Cedar Chest I have ever came across! This is a beauty of a chest with a very nice black leather cushioned top and a very fancy front wood inlay and its on wheels. This chest is 4 Foot long. Stands 16" tall, and is 16" deep. Please note that I have removed the lock due to Ebay policy as the lock on it was one that automatically latches. Lane does give new locks for free however, you call them at 800-327-6944. This is in Beautiful condition! There is one minor scratch on the left side that you can see in the last picture and there is one screw on one of the back hinges that has been replaced. I got this at an Estate Sale and you can tell it has not been sat on as the Leather and cushion is in Pristine condition, no cracks, no tears, no wear at all. My best guess is that this comes from the 1970's, maybe ... morelate 60's. This is the real deal and not a knockoff, this will be one of your favorite pieces of furniture. 1950s Vintage Wild-Wild West Toy Box Chest For auction is a vintage child’s Toy Box/Chest covered with Cowboy and Indian style graphics of the American Southwest. The toy box is made of pine with notched finger grip handles on each side. A chain on the inside of the box secures the lid from falling completely backwards. This is a very authentic and structurally sound chest from the 1950’s and early 1960’s. It measures 30 1/4" long X 14 1/2" wide X 12 1/2" high. There are a couple of very minor cracks near the hinges. However I glued and clamped them tight and now they are as good as new. There are initials HH(see picture) are located in the lower right corner of the right front panel. I suppose they are the initials of the artist for these graphics. This is a beautiful genuine antique Lane brand cedar lined hope chest which belonged to my grandmother. She was given this as a 9th grade graduation gift in 1952 from her mom and dad. I do not know the actual date of manufacturing only the year she was given it. According to the product information given below and the serial number. The date of manufacturing is 08/02/50. The color is a beautiful medium brown and made out of solid cedar wood and veneer on the outside and brown stain finish. This chest is very secure and sturdy.
