Up for sale today we have this beautiful vestment stole made by The Holy Rood Guild Company in Spencer. Mass. They have their own website if you would like to look at some of their items and the prices. Let me assure you that they do not have anything quite as affordable for sale. The first photo of the stone on the hanger was taken inside so we don't feel you can appreciate the fully glory of the colors. The second photo was taken outside under natural light as was the close up of the pattern in the 5th photo. The stole is a shade of orangish-red(if you call it red someone will call it orange and visa versa, you know how that goes and that is why we have shown you pictures taken inside and outside) with a black backing and tassles the color of gold, black and a burnt orange. The workmanship is fantastic, look at the gold pattern of crosses ... moreon the front. The stole is larger and best for a taller person since it measures 4 1/2" across and from the top of the fold to the start of the fringe is 55" so total lenth is over 100" No condition issues, no odors, no tears, no rips. Please excuse the images of flowers underneath the cloth- it is my bedspread showing through. This is a used Vestment Funeral Pall that measures 112” long and is 68” wide. There is a 3 ¼” hem around the borders and the vertical seams are ½” wide. The center panel is 34” wide and each side panel is 17” wide. The center of the Pall has a ... moresewn on appliqué of the XP Chi Rho symbol in gold. Blue and red. All four corners have weights inside to hold the cloth in place. The hem around the border is all carefully and skillfully hand stitched and the vertical seams are machine sewn. I am not sure of the cloth content. But an educated guess is a cotton/poly blend. It is probably machine washable. But I do not think the appliqué would do very well, so I would recommend Dry Cleaning. There are no holes. Tears, repairs or worn spots in the cloth, but there are some stains. I have taken some pictures to show them. But I am not sure what they are from. They are darker from the back of the cloth and it does not appear that this has been laundered since the stains occurred so they are probably not set in. This stole is absolutely beautiful and in super condition. It has no spills or stains and seems to have never been worn. As the label will show. It was made by the Contemplative Sisters of the Good Sheppard and is of very good quality. The metallic glistens much more than my Nikon will show. This is a very nice and clean vintage stole except for one small stain that looks like candle wax that I have pictured in the last photo. It is located near the bottom of the picture on the right side and not real noticeable. This is a narrow stole measuring only 2 1/4" wide and is 47" long from top to bottom of the fringe. All monitors are set a little different and mine shows this stole as being a little more on the cherry red color. It is not quite that color and the last photo shows on mine to be the true color. Vintage Clergy Vestment lot stole, 2 chalice veils burse red with gold applique
I am trying very hard not to call this a set but I really don't think it is. Although. Each piece has the exact same pattern, design and shade of color. All the gold appliques are the same shade of gold and I think pertain. Two of the pieces have a red silk lining and the other two have gold silk. Each piece is very clean with no spills, dirt or stains. The stole measures from the top to bottom of the fringe 57" long and is 4 1/2" wide at the bottom and is 3" wide at the top. The first and second Stoles each measure 96” long and are 3 ¼” wide. Both stoles are made from light weight cotton with silver metallic threads sewn into the pattern. One has varying shades of red stripes and other had varying shades of purple stripes. The third and fourth Stoles are both in the purple color family. The third stole measures 98” long and is 4 ¾” wide. It is a light plum color and the fabric is a very light weight silky polyester blend with an ink stamped gold cross on each end and a faded gold cross at the“v” neck. The fourth Stole is a mid weight polyester fabric in a royal purple(it matches the purple and silver stole in color perfectly) and has a fabric paint stamped cross symbol in yellow gold at the neck. Offered is an antique red velvet panel that is trimmed with gold metallic and bullion trim. I do not know the origin of this piece but because it is fully lined and has two hooks on the reverse side and because it is gathered at the top. I am thinking it was part of a vestment or cape.
