Add 1"5/16" to it for where the wire comes out. 3"3/4" Across cap not including the spots of the bolts. 9-S-4532-L Number on lid. Looks to be made of aluminum. Added 3 pictures of the lens. Found a small chip shown in picture 1. Glass lens looks to be in really good condition. One chip. No cracks that we can see. Did not unbolt it. Lens may be about 3"3/8" dia x 3" to 3"1/8" tall. Antique Dutch Delft Blue Colored Tile, Sailing Ship, Holland Makkum - Framed
Framed Antique Dutch Multi-Colored Tile with a Sailing Vessel(Koggeschip) was cemented into a wall in someone's house. Most likely a hand painted Friesian Makkum tile. The tile is mounted in a wooden frame. Glued in 3 areas. It looks like pieces of a wooden match were added on the bottom to keep the tile in place(last photo) Back of wooden frame has glue marks( on the corners(photo 3) Tile is in excellent condition. No crazing. Very few minor scratches. Tile size: 5" x 5" 1/4" thick. Frame: 6-3/4" x 6-3/4" Just a note: Purchased this framed tile in an antique store in Amsterdam in the early 1970's and have owned it ever since. Don't know the actual age of the tile. A famous American clipper sailing ship which set the record for fastest sailing time between New York and San Francisco(89 days) a record it held for over 100 years. The Flying Cloud was built in East Boston and launched in 1851. This calendar tile was distributed by a Boston merchant. Jones, McDuffee& Stratton Corpin. This tile is one of a series of annual tiles produced by Wedgwood featuring Boston area landmarks and other historic interests. Tile is marked"Wedgwood Etruria England" on one edge.
