Antique Floral Tile from Japan
Beautiful high-glazed colorful tile from Japan. We don't know who made this tile but it has fine workmanship and dates back to around 1900. The art nouveau style was copied from the English. But it is more colorful than the original designs. The glaze has slight crackling from age. There is evidence of wear on edges; is a tiny chip on one edge is noticeable(see upper left side of photo) Overall, for a 100+ year old tile, it is in very good condition. It measures 5 3/4" square x 5/8" thick.

1950's Japan set of four hand painted tiles made by H. Kanaya of Kyoto. Japan. Each wood panel is 19-1/4" long x 7-1/4" wide with a black gesso wood frames. Gesso loss as shown. Two beautiful vintage wall hangings by Ucagco Japan. Both are hand painted and have the same measurements. Just over 4 inches squared on the tiles, the metal portion is a bit over 8 inches across. One has a fruit motif, the other features beautifully detailed roses. Both are gorgeous pieces of art. The tiles are in great shape, no chips, cracks, or wear. The outer metal portions aren't dented and are in good condition, the do have rust, not bad, mild. They both have Ucagco japan stickers on the back, and some numbers that I don't know the meaning of. VICTORIAN DRESSMAKER Vintage (1950's?) HB Japan Ceramic Tiles in Wooden Frame
There is no date on these. So my guess is that these are from the 1950's when Japan started trading with the US a lot. The sticker on the back of one of them says"HB Japan" These are a matched set showing a Victorian dressmaker's shop on one tile and a men's clothing store on the other. Made in Japan. Circa 1940's Here is a beautifully detailed antique floral tile that was designed to be used as a border tile or listello. The hand painted design is unique to each tile, the raised pattern on the clay is glazed with rich, deep colors against a white background. Measures 4 1/8" long x 1 1/4" wide x 5/8" thick. Good condition for its age; has minor wear with only the most minor glaze nips and pre-existing mortor one would expect of a tile made in the 1940's. Condition is very good to excellent! Vintage COLLECTIBLE CERAMIC? TILE featuring HAWAII with BUTTERFLY 6" Made JAPAN
This is a pretty COLLECTIBLE VINTAGE TILE featuring HAWAII with a beautiful BUTTERFLY and pretty flowers on a white glazed background. The tile appears to be CERAMIC/PORCELAIN? and is 6" x 6" and just under.25" thick. It has been used as a wall hanging but with the addition of a cork backing would make a nice trivet. On the back of the tile it states MADE IN JAPAN and the numbers 53 11 3 3. The front(top) of the tile is in very good condition. There is an indentation in the lower left corner which was made during the formation of the tile and has some glaze inside of it. On the underside there are tiny chips at the lower corners which don't show on the top, also some discoloring from age and use.please check photos for detailing and condition. This one has damage, 1st Tile has a crack across the entire tile, 2nd tile has damages on both corners of the bottom that extend to inward to the center about an inch. Color on these are beautiful.
