Vintage Santo Santos Embroidered Vestment Religious Statue Creche
Up for consideration is an old/ vintage santo vestment. The blue part of the vestment is embroidered with flowers and has a chalice in the middle; made from velvet. The white tunic is made from lace as can be seen in the photos. There are also some stain on the tunic. It measures approx 12" from neck to hemline and about 8" across the sleeves including the lace trimming. FATIGUED FRENCH FINDS http:www.facebook.com/vintagefrenchtwt This is a vintage French chasuble decorated with an ear of wheat on both back and front. It is in lovely vintage condition. With no damage but it will benefit from a clean as it is a little grubby in places. It has a zip opening at the neck. The manufacturer was F.D. Monna of Toulouse. Who were renowned for their religious statues. The firm was opened by Francois Dominique Monna(1849-1907) in 1873, principally for the manufacture of statues but the company went on to manufacture many religious items, including vestments. The chasuble dates to the second quarter of the 20th century. Some of the embroidery on the ear of wheat and the stitching around the neck of the chasuble has been done by hand. It measures 42" long. Very old Chalice. Stands 9 1/2 inches tall. Has the Minerva hallamrk on the cup& base. It's completely all sterling silver. Cup omes all apart from base for traveling purposes. Minerva is the standard guarantee mark for silver. I did polish the cup only and the rest will shine nicely once polished. No damage seen to the chalice. Garanteed well over 100 years old. Paten is stamped Sterling& SL with an arrow. Here's some info I found on the internet about the Head of Minerva. The French assay mark for sterling silver is the head of the goddess. In fact. The French standard for sterling silver is higher than that of other nations, requiring a silver content of 950 parts per thousand, or 95% silver.

Vintage Religious Shrine Altar Byzantine? Greek?
Offered for sale is this vintage Religious Shrine or altar. Not sure what it is of but looks like pictures I have seen of ancient Greek or Byzantine type icons. It has a lot of hand tooling on the metal with 1949 on either side. There are 3 iconic pictures in the recessed areas. I am not sure what the metal is but is does tarnish slightly and when I rubbed it off it is very shiny underneath. Possible silver but no makers mark that I can see.
