Also the pictures show it to be whiter than it really is, it is actually a light cream color. The edge is trimmed in yellow, red and green roping. Red is a color typically used for Pentecost or at Easter time. It is in excellent condition and looks to have seen little use. This is a very nice and clean vintage maniple with no stains or spills. It is however missing a portion of the frontal material that I have pictured in the last photo. I would think this could be worn on either the right or left arm as it has the same design on both sides. The part that is missing would be worn on the inside either way. It was made by the Contemplative Sisters of the Good Sheppard and is of very good quality. The metallic glistens much more than my Nikon will show. This is a very nice and clean vintage stole except for one small stain that looks like candle wax that I have pictured in the last photo. It is located near the bottom of the picture on the right side and not real noticeable. This is a narrow stole measuring only 2 1/4" wide and is 47" long from top to bottom of the fringe. All monitors are set a little different and mine shows this stole as being a little more on the cherry red color. It is not quite that color and the last photo shows on mine to be the true color. I am trying very hard not to call this a set but I really don't think it is. Although. Each piece has the exact same pattern, design and shade of color. All the gold appliques are the same shade of gold and I think pertain. Two of the pieces have a red silk lining and the other two have gold silk. Each piece is very clean with no spills, dirt or stains. The stole measures from the top to bottom of the fringe 57" long and is 4 1/2" wide at the bottom and is 3" wide at the top. 1860-1960.one hundred years of fashion& accesories Antique Religious Red Silk Brocade Embroidered Priests Vestment Chasuble Poncho This antique religious red silk brocade embroidered Catholic priests vestment chasuble dates from 1900. It is made of a red silk damask weave brocade fabric with a woven floral pattern. Colorful chain stitch embroidery work done in a floral fancy rococo design and gold metallic lamé trim edging, creating a cross on the back. This religious Catholic priests vestment chasuble has a loose fitting poncho style with open sides and is fully lined. The chasuble measures 37 inches long and 26 inches wide. It is in good as-is condition, with a few frayed splits and mended repairs on the silk(see close-up) This is truly a wonderful antique religious textile!
