We are not certain but believe he was a Bishop. This is a"Chasuble" which is the outermost liturgical vestment worn by clergy for the celebration of the Eucharist in Western-tradition Christian Churches that use full vestments. The chasuble measures about 42.5 inches long from the top of the collar to bottom hem. It has the old style"bell-shape" to it. The material is a creamy colored polyester-blend? This chasuble is embellished with ornate bands of green and rose colored ... morematerial with a large Christian symbol on the backside. This robe is vintage and used. It would benefit from a dry cleaning. We have not done so. There is some wear consistent with age and being worn. The button snap closure needs to be replaced. There are quite a few stains on the front side. Some on the back as well. Appears to be just on the top layer of material not thru to the red underside material. Also, a small section of the seam has let go around the neckline. This chasuble has no makers tag and does appear to have a good age to it. Antique Religious Roman Catholic Priest Vestment Rose Cloak - John P Daleiden Co
Beautiful antique priest's cloak by the John P. Daleiden Co. of Chicago. It is Rose(HOT PINK) in color and has gold embroidered trim and gold tassel trim. I believe that the material is silk jacquard. The condition is very good with the exception of some fraying of the material around the embellished metal closure and I noticed a few of the gold corded tassels were frayed. Rose Low Mass Chasuble Vestment Set
Up for auction is a rose colored Low Mass Vestment Set for Laetare Sunday in Lent and Gaudete Sunday in Advent. I'm not sure of the age or country of origin. But this set is in very good condition. No obvious stains, tears or other wear. The set includes a chasuble(decorated with violet and gold orphrey and an embroiled flower on the back) stole, maniple, chalice veil and burse. Is approx. 43" lg from shoulder to hem and is in Fair condition showing some wear, spots and areas of dirt/soiling/staining and collar/hem wear from age. Use and storage. A neat older lot. This old Catholic Vestment Robe shows normal wear from use and looks to have been stored away for a number of years. This one is a"poncho style pull-over" The Crest has a IHS. There is some dirt/soiling around the collar and the top snap on the back needs to be re-attached to the robe. This came from a recent local sale of religious items. Beautiful VintageGold Bullion Rose Appliques
Beautiful vintage gold bullion rose appliques for use on a Roman Fiddleback vestment. Each rose measures 4 1/4" by 3" They each consists of 2 large leaves. 3 small leaves, the rose, the stem, and a bud. Old bullion appliques are becoming extremely hard to find. This set is in extremely good condition for its age, but the fabric that they are attached to will need to be removed before they can be reapplied to a new vestment. Bullion is small mil gold wire that has been wrapped. I actually have two sets of these gold bullion roses. An additional listing is made for the other set.
