Red Vestment Brocade 'Jeweled' Cope and stole (part of High Mass set) No Reserve
Offered for auction is a magnificent"jeweled" cope with matching stole. This cope is part of a full set– please see my other listings for the other matching items(dalmatic. Chasuble, etc. This set consists of heavy red and blue velvet(or similar material- sorry. Not an expert on this) ophreys on a base damask fabric. The ophreys of blue have been overlaid with gold cutwork with different rhinestones along the cutwork length. The effect is very rich. It is offered for auction with low starting price and no reserve. Both the starting and Buy-It-Now prices are low since the collection has to be sold quickly. The item has barely any wear. The length is around 51 inches. Please note the following before bidding or buying this item: 1) The stones laid on the vestments give off a very bright/sparkling effect in the light. This can give ... morea very rich effect. But is dependent on the environment. Certain settings e.g. bright artificial spotlight settings, may be inadvisable. 2) The tassels on the stole have evidently been added at a later date and NOT very well. PRESENTED HERE FOR AUCTION IS AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING AND RARE CATHOLIC PRIESTS CHASUBLE VESTMENT. IT IS AN IVORY BROCADE WITH VERY ELEGANT FLORAL. CROSS AND THORN DETAILING THROUGHOUT. IT HAS RED, IVORY AND GOLD ACCENTS WITH CROSSES AND FLORALS, AND COMES WITH A MATCHING STOLE. THE CHASUBLE MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 52 INCHES LONG, AND FROM END TO END ACROSS IS APPROXIMATELY 60 INCHES. 1860-1960.one hundred years of fashion& accesories Antique Religious Red Silk Brocade Embroidered Priests Vestment Chasuble Poncho This antique religious red silk brocade embroidered Catholic priests vestment chasuble dates from 1900. It is made of a red silk damask weave brocade fabric with a woven floral pattern. Colorful chain stitch embroidery work done in a floral fancy rococo design and gold metallic lamé trim edging, creating a cross on the back. This religious Catholic priests vestment chasuble has a loose fitting poncho style with open sides and is fully lined. The chasuble measures 37 inches long and 26 inches wide. It is in good as-is condition, with a few frayed splits and mended repairs on the silk(see close-up) This is truly a wonderful antique religious textile! Description: Traditional red brocade chasuble. Red fabric has chalices and grapes woven into it. Decorated with Y shaped orphreys made of banding in shades of green and gold. Back has a green vesica with gold embroidered cross. Front press-stud fastening. Lined in gold. Condition: Good condition(There are a couple of small faint marks.
