It is made of a plain purple fabric(light-weight) and has a lovely gold banding around the neck and running down the front and the back. It comes with a matching stole. This is the last set of Vestment Stoles we have to offer… This auction is for 7 Vestment Stoles and 1 gold Vestment Rope Cincture. This is a mixed lot. Although two of the stoles are very similar. The first and second Stoles each measure 96” long and are 3 ¼” wide. Both stoles are made from light weight cotton with silver metallic threads sewn into the pattern. One has varying shades of red stripes and other had varying shades of purple stripes. The third and fourth Stoles are both in the purple color family. The third stole measures 98” long and is 4 ¾” wide. It is a light plum color and the fabric is a very light weight silky polyester blend with an ink stamped gold cross on each end and a faded gold cross at the“v” neck. The fourth Stole is a mid weight polyester fabric in a royal purple(it matches the purple and silver stole in color perfectly) and has a fabric paint stamped cross symbol in yellow gold at the neck. One side is silk cloth of gold. With elaborate raised goldwork motifs. The other side is soft purple silk. Embroidered in silks and decorated with silver sequins. The edges of the stole are joined by a metallic gold cord. With two superb metallic tassels which have bullion fringes with thickly coiled wire'caterpillars' The bullion fringe at the bottom of the stole also has these'caterpillars' The gold side of the stole is edged with metallic trim. The purple side is edged with a cream silk trim. There is some wear to be found on the gold side. Which is not apparent until you look hard.
