Lovely Ivory Color. Original tag on the inside. Features pockets on both sides. Velcro tabs located on waist. Top of shoulder, collar and inside of flap. Pleat located on back. BEAUTIFUL HOME SEWN PRIEST/ALTAR SERVER'S SURPLICE WITH HAND CROCHETED LACE
THIS VERY LOVELY SURPLICE WAS BEAUTIFULLY HAND MADE OF COTTON NETTING. IT WAS MADE WITH FRENCH SEAMS. DELICATE THIN PLEATS DOWN THE FRONT AND ALL AROUND THE BOTTOM ABOVE THE BODY HEM AND SLEEVE HEMS FOR EMBELLISHMENT. HAS TWO THIN PLEATS AT THE TOP OF EACH SLEEVE. A GUSSET WAS INSERTED UNDER THE SLEEVES FOR FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT. A THIN CROCHETED LACE WAS MADE AND ATTACHED TO THE NECKLINE AND PLACKET. A LOVELY PATTERN OF CROCHTED LACE WAS BEAUTIFULLY MADE AND ATTACHED TO ALL HEMS. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL PIECE. A TRUE LABOR OF LOVE. MEASUREMENTS: FROM SHOULDER SEAM TO BOTTOM OF LACE IS 38" BOTTOM LACE PANEL: 13" SLEEVE LACE PANEL: 10" THE SURPLICE WAS CAREFULLY USED AND HAS A VERY FEW PLACES WERE IT WAS NEATLY REINFORCED WHEN NEEDED. The back is pleated from the waist, with an attached belt that fastens with velcro. Sides have pocket slits. Made of a cotton-blend fabric. Condition: There is a small repair just below the base of the zipper. But this is not very noticeable. Also the velcro at the collar does not hold quite as tightly as it originally did. Otherwise the alb is in good condition. Size: Length from back of neck to hem is 58" Width across the back measured under the sleeves is 21" approx.42" chest.
