Nice old priest's stole in green brocade. With gold embroidered crosses, green and gold tasseled ends, and lace band across yoke. Stole is in very good condition for its age. This is a very nice and clean vintage stole with only one area that looks is if someone tried to clean a red wine spill. And did fairly good at it. Stunning vintage priest's green brocade preaching stole with gold symbols and fringe. There is a gold interlaced trefoil and triangle symbol near each end panel and a gold cross at the neck. It has a gold band and 2.5 inches of gold fringe at each end. The lining is a rich bronze colored satin. The maker's tag reads.J. Theodore Cuthbertson Philadelphia, PA" and has a small snap under the tag to attach to the alb or chasuble. The interlaced trefoil and triangle was a common symbol of Christian Trinity during the late Middle Ages in Europe. It is mitered and contoured at the neck for proper fit. The stole is 46 inches long from neck to each end. Almost 5 inches wide at the end and 2.5 inches wide at the neck. The stole is substantial weight and is of very good quality. LARGE Antique Church VESTMENT DECOR The Mother In Brocade, Gold, Velvet & Silk
Measures aprox 104" long by 22" wide A lovely church tapestry. Might be an altar piece or a vestment. Features- gold metallic threading make up the tastes and ornate brocade work; stunning rich blue velvet. Silk background textile with jacked gold pattern. Backside is a blue silk with two long pockets. This backside fabric has some thinning which can be seen through. A original tag reads"Philippe Kunstenaar& Co. New York- Paris- Lyon made in France. Ornate metal hooks in gold are sewn on in two places. May be a way to tie on the piece and wear it.one of them needs to be sewn back on as it is loose.
