The Holy Rood Guild Vestment Stole orangish-red, gold, black, tassles large long
Up for sale today we have this beautiful vestment stole made by The Holy Rood Guild Company in Spencer. Mass. They have their own website if you would like to look at some of their items and the prices. Let me assure you that they do not have anything quite as affordable for sale. The first photo of the stone on the hanger was taken inside so we don't feel you can appreciate the fully glory of the colors. The second photo was taken outside under natural light as was the close up of the pattern in the 5th photo. The stole is a shade of orangish-red(if you call it red someone will call it orange and visa versa, you know how that goes and that is why we have shown you pictures taken inside and outside) with a black backing and tassles the color of gold, black and a burnt orange. The workmanship is fantastic, look at the gold pattern of crosses ... moreon the front. The stole is larger and best for a taller person since it measures 4 1/2" across and from the top of the fold to the start of the fringe is 55" so total lenth is over 100" No condition issues, no odors, no tears, no rips. We sent a photo to a close friend of ours who is employed by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Miami and his response was that while it was probably made with a high church Episcopalian in mind there are many instances in which it could be worn by a Roman Catholic priest. Some man(or woman) is going to look great wearing this. Although these items sell for hundreds of dollars new and even here on ebay frequently bring in over $100 used we want to start the bidding out to give more people a chance. Back has a shiny gold vesica with black Chi-Rho and Alpha-Omega. Made of a relatively lightweight fabric with a pattern in the weave. Lined in black. Condition: There is a line of fading to the fabric along the top edge where it has been on a hanger for a long time. But otherwise the chasuble is in good condition.
