$38.00 Shipping Condition: Used Location: Raleigh, United States A recent estate sale purchase. A small child's size travel/ steamer trunk complete with a tray and a key. This trunk measures approximately 22" ... morelong X 14" wide X 15 1/2" high and it has two hinges in back that hold the lid securely to the base. There used to be sturdy leather handles on each side of the trunk but they are no longer intact, these can be purchased inexpensively on-line and they're fairly easy to replace. The corner protectors and hardware appear to be brass plated steel. There are two hasp type closures, one on each side of the lock and the lock needs to be bent just a little to close it securely. We tried the key and the locking mechanism seems to work properly but we didn't want to damage anything so it will arrive open with the key tucked in an envelope safely inside. The inside of the trunk is wood and there should be wood beneath the black material covering the outside(it is non-magnetic and we don't think it's metal) This little trunk is in very good condition and once it's restored it should be a beauty- perfect for your antique doll collection or as a gift for a very special grandchild. Up for bid is a gorgeous. Rustic vintage steamer trunk. I am not sure about the brand or label. I am not sure about the age either,but as I researched and compared it to the other listings, I believe it is from the 1940's or earlier. The leather straps are broken, and they are almost entirely gone, but the hinges and latches are still attached.There is no key. Some of the metals are also present, but rusted. There is no tray inside. It seems that it used to be covered with canvas, but it is faded and almost entirely gone. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful rustic piece that can be a coffee table in its present, original state or when its restored. Great for a steam punk style project. Extra Large Vintage Steamer Trunk 36" X 20" X 22"
Sturdy trunk could be used as a coffee table. The hinge and latches work and it will stay open be its self. The lock appears to work but I don't have a key so I can't really test it. It is a wood frame covered with a hard plastic like sheeting with metal corners and accents. Dark green. Gold and red. This trunk has a lot of history. Left over shipping tags, scratches and marks, it even looks like a double bladed rip saw tried to cut off one of the bottom corners until it hit the metal corner braces and you can see in the last photo that one blade made it all the was through, one of the thick leather handles on the side is worn almost all the way through and it wouldn't survive if the trunk had a load in it. For auction is one Vintage Antique Steamer US Trunk Co. Wardrobe Trunk. US Trunk Co. emblem of Fall River. Massachusetts. This was my great grandmother's trunk. My family came from England in the late 1800's but the history of US Trunk Co.I believe dates this to be the early 1900's. It's green wood with metal corners and does need some work but appears to be all original as is. There is no key. The dimensions are 30"L x 17"W x 13"D. Straps are in very good shape and each are pictured. Noting"109 30" on each. Initials FG on front of trunk. The two side latches work properly and the center lock is a bit stiff and may not work. There is some writing undermeath the center lock that is hard to read but it looks like it says"Patented 1867, reissued Aug. and we cant't seem to make out the rest. We believe this is from the late 1800's to early 1900's but are unsure of the actual age. There is some very nice ornate designs on the riveted corners and the black metal on the tops and sides. There is some damaged wood and some damage to the metal on one corner, also some rust on the back hinges. The inside has some cracking in the wood but is still in good shape. This is a fantastic vintage cedar-lined brass trunk with wooden feet. It stands 18" high. Measurements of the trunk without feet are 30.5" x 16" x 16" The lock is no longer operational and stays closed with a magnet for convenience of use. It is heavy. Strong, sturdy and very usable. This is in used-vintage condition. The brass shows wear and use with scratches and tiny dings. Mostly concentrated on the top. The top looks to have been heavily used, but this adds to its vintage charm. The lock, metal handles and wooden feet also show wear. Overall, this is a great, hard to find vintage piece! Big Vintage Doll Steamer Type Trunk with Key Lock ~ Very good condition!
I am liquidating an estate and there are many dolls coming up for sale. Check all my auctions as I'm happy to combine shipping. Here is a very old vintage doll trunk; made just like Mom's! Big size ~ 18" tall. Almost 11" across, and 9" deep. This trunk opens up so you can hang the clothes and put accessories in both the top bin(can open that all the way up too ~ see pics) and the bottom drawer. There are great travel stickers all over this trunk like Swooping across the Atlantic on the SS Col. Lindbergh; Down the Nile to Silent Father of Mystery S. S. Alexandria and many more. All the necessary items are in place on this trunk such as the top handle to carry it with. The inside drawers even have their knobs, the key is tied to the outside, the metal hanging rod is in place, All decorative metal corners are in place, ... moreetc. There are some age conditions such as some of the paper being worn on the trunk, the bottom drawer has some tape on it and there is some minor staining throughout as you would expect for a piece from the early 1900's. I don't know who made the trunk. It appears there is something on the latch. But I can't read it. Look at all the photos and ask any and all questions before you buy it. Vintage flat topped metal covered steamer Excelsior trunk. Has been kept inside a smoke and pet free home. Height: 22.5 inches width: 32 inches Depth: 19 inches Would make an excellent restoration project. While the paint is damaged and needs to be redone. There is minimal damage to the metal itself. The drawer lifts out easily. The drawer insert does require some repair. The damage would be easily remedied by re-papering. There is no key for the lock. I have seen keys for this particular Excelsior trunk lock. The code for the key is 5989. The hasps on either side of the lock work well. I have owned this trunk for close to 30 years. It was vintage. Close to antique when I bought it. In all the years I have owned this trunk, I have not seen another one as large as it.

VINTAGE Antique Wardrobe STEAMER CHEST TRUNK National Vulcanized Fibre co.
Here is an antique Steamer Trunk Wardrobe. The sides are flat so this could be used as an interesting coffee table. The outside brass has a little oxidation and there are assorted nicks and dings from use but overall it's in pretty good shape. It has all four(4) drawers. The top drawer locks and I believe one of the keys works in that lock. All the hanging mechanisms work- the hanging bars extend out etc. I have all the wooden hangers(see photo) It smells a little musty inside but probably nothing Febreeze and fresh air won't fix. The lock on the outside works and I have two(2) original keys plus a new one I had to have made when I locked the keys inside. I have always called this the Circus trunk because I bought it in Sarasota. Florida which has very strong circus ties. Sarasota was for many years the winter home of Ringling Brothers ... moreCircus and Barnum and Bailey Circus and now has an excellent Circus Museum and the Ringling Art Museum(formerly the Ringling residence) The man I bought the trunk from said it had belonged to a circus performer. I did a little research but was not able to get any more information than that. So not only can you buy a very cool old trunk but you can have a mystery included for free! This is a fun piece of Americana and of special interest to Circus fans everywhere! I don't know how much this weighs. Probably 70-100 pounds I would guess. vintage steamer hump back trunk pick up only
Very nice vintage hump back trunk. It appears to be very old. I believe it is all original and all the hardware is present to my knowledge. Both straps are missing except part of one strap although not attached is inside the trunk. There is some slight surface rust on top metal. I did not try to remove it. It show signs of use but is still in pretty nice condition. I do not have the lock but all the latches are there and it opens without a lock. I think the lock is original but not sure. Please view all pictures and ask questions before bidding. Due to size this item is pick up only. About 30 miles south of Cleveland Ohio. 33"X12.5" X 17" Black High Gloss Metal Steamer Trunk with Key Long Lock T44 out of Petersburg VA This trunk is immaculate inside. Stored owners important papers and item was wrapped in March 23. 1952 Newspaper that is in pristine condition. No smoke or pet but is a bit musty. Lock was pride open but can be re bent into shape. Lock is missing guts but closes shut tight. and cannot see damage of lock has two heavy duty clasps to keep it shut tight also. Corners all but one. Is in excellent condition. one corner is dented in) but adds character. No rust or other damage other than scratches on black metal on bottom and a few on top. Does not take away from charm. Also has a side leather handle in excellent condition. Interior is paper lined. in Pristine condition. no tears or stains. Would make a great décor piece. or coffee ... moretable. since its heavy metal and black.

Beautiful Vintage Bassett Steamer Trunk - LOCAL PICKUP ONLY
This is a beautiful vintage steamer trunk by Bassett. In great condition. Dimensions are approximately 20x23x39. Outside handles are intact. Minor scuffs on exterior. Interior is a gorgeous blue with original wooden clothes hangers. Thin suitcase attached at bottom for smaller items. Set of four drawers, one partitioned inside. Bottom drawer features a snap-in item that we believe is for potpourri, to keep the trunk smelling fresh(very cool addition that we haven't seen before) Metal bar slides up to prevent drawers from opening in transport. Smoke-free home. Picture shows masking tape marks that previous owner used to keep the outside lock from closing and locking. The tape and residue has since been removed. Belonged to a now 85 year old's mother and the trunk may have been handed down to her. Possibly from the first World War. Trunk has a metal frame and metal(steel? ornate hardware. Bottom has rollers in each corner, 1 roller is frozen(see last picture) Constructed of wood which was partially covered with material. Some material still remains. Similar ones seem to be from the late 1800's but this is unique in the fact that it is covered in metal with wood trim. It has a flat top. Removable tray and wheels that I placed coasters over. They are easily removed. It smells like a cedar lined trunk. I do not have the key for the center lock but have seen them offered on eBay. Local pick up free of charge. 34.25"x19"x22" Dimentions.
