Brass and Black metal covered wood. 2 original metal casters. 2 replaced rubber casters. A few small dents on the left- front brass. Pieces of one original leather handle remain. Vintage flat topped metal covered steamer Excelsior trunk. Has been kept inside a smoke and pet free home. Height: 22.5 inches width: 32 inches Depth: 19 inches Would make an excellent restoration project. While the paint is damaged and needs to be redone. There is minimal damage to the metal itself. The drawer lifts out easily. The drawer insert does require some repair. The damage would be easily remedied by re-papering. There is no key for the lock. I have seen keys for this particular Excelsior trunk lock. The code for the key is 5989. The hasps on either side of the lock work well. I have owned this trunk for close to 30 years. It was vintage. This is an antique. And sturdy trunk build with a combination of wood and metal. The metal has been lost in some areas leaving the wood exposed. The leather handles are riped or gone. Antique Trunk. Measures 16" wide. 10" deep, 11" high. Wood trunk with metal embossed skin. Barrel top with wood slats. Metal corner protectors. This trunk was probably either a steamer travel trunk. Or a childs toy trunk, I do not know for sure it's purpose. The latches are missing the top half, and the lock is missing the latch, so the trunk can't be latched. The hinges are in great shape and the trunk opens and closes easily. The leather handle straps are gone. The interior appears to be the original except it looks like the inside top was replaced with a pirate chest themed paper. All in all it's a beautiful antique trunk.
