This is an old violin. That was found in a cellar, in Scotland. It has a very nice patina and is a rich red brown colour. It has a long thin shape and the back measures 33.5cm. It needs new strings and one tuning peg and setting up. The top part of the left scroll has a slight bit of damage, also there are three or four old woodworm holes, but it is an easy repair, I think it is possibly English or German and could make a nice fiddle again.

This is a re-listing. This previous winner of the auction for this violin didn't pay or make contact so it is now available for sale once again. I know little about violins but I do believe that this violin is old. Is in a condition worthy of restoration and potentially a good quality instrument. It obviously needs attention; re-stringing, a replacement bridge and generally cleaning up but there are no splits or serious damage. The bow, which is mahogany and ebony with mother of pearl decorations, needs re-stringing(horse-hairing? but otherwise it is in good condition. There is an old label inside the body of the violin which states: Copy of Antonius Stradivarius” but I believe adding such labels has been a common practice since it was recognised that Anton was a pretty good violin maker! Ah yes. Before you are an extremely rare antique bookend. These were originally cast in fine bronze at the turn of the 20th century by a premier foundry. And were sculpted by J. L. Lambert. He is known for some outrageous, delightful, and dramatic Native American depictions. This pair isn't heavily referenced. But experience collectors and antique dealers know truly the popularity and market for large figural pieces such as these, especially pieces by this artist. A cursory search shows many designs in this style, with mediums that include solid bronze, electroformed bronze, cast metal, chalkware, ceramic, and resin. These are cast metal, plated heavily in copper that has darkened naturally. 8" tall. 4 1/4" wide, 4 1/2" deep. Those are the measurements. The pair, weigh 9 lbs. These aren't marked, but the maker is safely ... moreattributed to Dodge. A well known foundry that produced western themed pairs from cowboys and broncos, to cacti and wagon wheels. Both are felted. And both are in great vintage condition. You will be pleased to find no holes, cracks, break, or repairs. These are striking, especially with the trailer war bonnets that flow entirely down the natives back. One has a bit of bronze disease. That white powdery film, on the front edge. This is easily remedied with a bit of vinegar and wax, a wet thumb disguises it temporarily though. These have been left in their original condition.

this is a very old tankard or stein. Probably from the 1800s, it measures about 25.5cm high, i think it was originally silver plated but now its all worn off leaving a brass colour, would look amazing if you get it re-plated, handle and finial look to be made from a different kind of metal, the top has a slight dent under the ball finial, also the top rim is dented but should be easy to straighten out. surely a rare and desirable piece which displays very well. not seen another like it before. this really is an amazing old box. Not seen anything like it before, no idea of age or origin, my opinion would be 1800s and possibly russian, it has very beautiful enamel decoration some of which is damaged and missing, the box is in dirty uncleaned condition. the catch is damaged and loose but im sure it would be an easy repair. the box measures about 9.7cm long, 6.2cm wide at the base.4.9cm high. please enlarge all 12 photos, but i would recommend viewing on this fine piece so you can see how beautiful it really is. surely an extremely rare old box worthy of restoration and research. it came with more very rare pieces ive been listing. A NICE LION HEAD SCROLL VIOLIN WITH BOW AND CASE c1890
Hi.I have for sale a good lion head scroll violin that comes with bow and case.This Violin is more unusual than the most violins as the head scroll is fashioned into a lions head.The Violin is possibly German and would be late Victorian.The violin is in good condition wit no major problems but it does need a few jobs before it can be played again.The finger board has come away and needs to be glued back(there is currently a cable tie holding on to the neck)There are no strings and two pegs are missing.The violin is all complete though and there is just one small split by the right hand f hole.The neck is nice and straight and the peg box looks fine.The two pegs look original and the holes look like they haven't opened out over the years.I will firstly give the pegbox hole measurements starting from the top and starting from the left to ... moreright.top peg 7.07mm- 7.78mm,second peg = 7.87mm- 6.73mm third peg = 6.87mm- 7.87mm, bottom peg = 7.80mm- 6.44mm. The body has a number of small scars.Dings and scratches,a good strip back and refinish would bring it back to a nice violin again.The rear has a single back and this is not too bad.The violin looks even when looked along the belly and back.The ribs look fine and the neck is strong. The violin is not signed and measures 60cm long.The bow looks fine with just the odd string Frey.The carry case is in poor condition though.A bridge is with this violin,there is alos one screw missing from the tailpiece.This is a nice violin though and will look even better when refurbished. 1861 CIVIL WAR ERA INKWELL / PENREST GLASS PEWTER BRASS & IRON BUBBLE TOP
3 DAY AUCTION! This is an antique inkwell with built in penrest. And it has a patent date of 1861. The base is brass, the inkwell is glass, the cap is pewter, and the ren rack is iron. There may be wood or some other material under the brass of the base. The glass ink font seems to be held in place by plaster, so the interior material may be plaster. There are spots of corrosion on the brass base with vertigris, but the inkwell/penrest is in very good condiiton for it's age. Can't test relays to see if operable, leave that up to buyer. Gong has a 11" cast iron base and a 10" brass gong. Register measures 9 1/2" long X 4 3/4" wide on the cast iron base Brass and glass part of unit measures Just under 8" long X 3" wide. Height from bottom of base to top glass is 7" With tape reel 10" high. Rewinder measures from top of reel to bottom cast base 7 1/4" tall. Cast base measures 5" X 2" Both paper tape reels measure 5" in dia. ticker tape ... moreis 1" wide. Paper cut out collection cup measures 1 5/8" tall X 1 1/2" dia. You are looking at a vintage Ericsson telephone. This is number N2204A10. It is British I believe. This is how it was described a long time ago: This instrument is the equivalent of the modern bakelite table set but arranged for wall mounting. And is ideal for indoor use where space is limited. The casework is of the same neat design as that used for the automatic and C.B. sets and embodies the same new features. I.e. the case is gate-hinged and the cradle construction enables the micro-telephone to be suspended vertically over the front of the instrument. The interior components. Consisting of"alnico" generator, anti-side-tone induction coil, condenser, ringer, switch and terminals, are mounted as a unit which can be readily removed from the case; alternatively, the case with equipment unit attached can be lifted off the hinges ... morefor maintenance purposes. Oberg& Co. was founded by in 1897 and began manufacturing bicycles similar to competitor companies. The name probably came from Fridtjof Nansen's. In 1905 took over the production of AB Josef Eriksson's Bicycle Factory(later AB Joseph Erickson) In 1932 the company was purchased by the Industrial Company of. Which manufactured King bike brand. In 1955 the company changed its name to the bicycle factory Fram. Two years later made it a three-wheel. As final assembly factory in. But demand was poor. On offer is an amazing 19th century glass jug. This large clear glass jug is Victorian and I am told dates to around 1850. Really outstanding condition. It features a frilly rim and various panels around the body of the jug. Quite a large. Heavy jug- it stands approx. 19cm high and weighs around 1.4kg. Pre 1928 Shredded Wheat Company wooden crate
For sale a vintage wooden crate from The Shredded Wheat Company of Niagara Falls New York. This crate would have been used to ship boxes of shredded wheat cereal. Based on research. This company was purchased by what is now called Nabisco in 1928. The end of the crate still has nicely preserved branding of the company. On the back side is stamped- Evans- Burnett Co. See photos. Not 100% sure on this! but believe Evans-Burnett was a grocery wholesaler in the area. The wood is in pretty good condition for being so old. There are some water stains on inside.see photos. The tongue and groove is showing some separation on bottom. There is a hole on the front on the letter"H" Not sure if it was purposely drilled or it was a knot in the wood that popped. this is a very fine quality old instrument. Info welcome as im not sure if its a clarinet or maybe an oboe, its in untouched dirty condition so does need a good clean and some restoration to the pushers or pads. overall length is about 56cm long. im sure once polished the patinba and colour will be amazing, cant see any makers names but they maybe covered by all the dirt. it came with more good old instruments ill be listing.
