ANTIQUE OLD VIOLIN EDWARDIAN VICTORIAN ENGLISH GERMAN UNUSUAL VINTAGE FIDDLE
This is an old violin. That was found in a cellar, in Scotland. It has a very nice patina and is a rich red brown colour. It has a long thin shape and the back measures 33.5cm. It needs new strings and one tuning peg and setting up. The top part of the left scroll has a slight bit of damage, also there are three or four old woodworm holes, but it is an easy repair, I think it is possibly English or German and could make a nice fiddle again.

ANTIQUE ENGLISH OAK AND BEVELED GLASS GENTLEMAN'S SMOKING BOX
This is an Antique Smoker's Box from England and I believe it is about 100 years old. It is from the late Victorian period or the early Edwardian period. It is made of oak. Either brass or brass overlay fittings and beveled glass. It measures 12 inches long. 6 inches wide and 6 inches high at the handle(actual box height is 3 3/8 inches) It has two hinged top openings. One that opens to expose a teak lined box(4 3/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches) Probably for pipe tobacco. A second that includes a compartment for matches with a striker stone. And a teak lined box(4 3/4 inches by 3 inches) This could be used for pipe tobacco or cigarettes. There are two items that I will point out in terms of condition. But they are very minor. There is a'domed-top tack' missing on one of the top brass fittings at the corner(see photo) The locking hardware ... moreon the'matches side' is not a complete loop(see photo) The beveled glass tops have some scratches but nothing you wouldn't expect based on the age. There is a brass escutcheon at the key hole opening. But there is no key. I believe all parts of this box are original. I purchased this item in New York City in the early 1980s from a company that specialized in English Antique Accessories. The company was called"Sentimento" The owner had a marvelous eye for quality. And initially sold many of this type of English antiquities to Polo Ralph Lauren. The antiques were used to enhance the sophisticated atmosphere of Old World elegance in his Polo stores. It was made by SMITHSON of SHEFFIELD. It is marked ADVANCE. The wood handle is in good condition. The blade is in good condition with the exception of a dime sized blemish. The blade is very straight. It could used a further cleaning and polishing. But the remaining gunk gives it character. The teeth feel to be very sharp. It feels good in the hand. Beautiful Antique English Upright Birdcage Piano
For sale is a beautiful and ornate burled wood English upright birdcage piano from the 1800s. Believed to be made in Darwen, England by the J. Eccles family. It has an intricate griffin inlaid design on the front and matching brass griffin piano sconces(candlestick holders) I purchased it from the family that had it shipped to the U.S. from England. The dimensions are 52"L, 22.5"W, 47"H and I believe it is approximately 400lbs. It has all the original ivory keys in good condition but needs a few keys repaired(don't play) and needs to be tuned. I use it primarily as a decorative piece-with the candles lit it looks absolutely stunning. I was told by a piano technician that the majority of these types of pianos were destroyed in the 1900s, and one in good condition is rare. It does not have a piano bench. Wonderful old oak frame with horseshoes in each corner. It has three panels with glass and each panel has a print depicting equestrian fox hunting scenes. The frame is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks to the wood or glass. The prints have some light staining and discoloration but overall still look very good. The frame measures 38-3/4 inches long by 17-3/8 inches high and 1-1/4 inches in depth.

Antique English Full Leather King George V1 Case c 1940 - Beautiful Very Unique
Offered- a beautiful English Full Leather King George V1 Case. The case is large- measuring 26 3/4 inches in length and 9 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches deep. The case is a beautiful Chestnu t brow n with brass handles on each end a nd a G R under a crown on the center of the lid. The case is marked on one end: R W& Co. Ltd. 1940 The case is fully lined in green felt- which is in a good clean condition. I am not sure what this case was used for- possibly a pre s entation case- or a sporting equipment case of some type. The case is extremely w ell made- the leather being a very sturdy 1/8 inch thickness. There is brass riv e ting all around the case- and the stitching is very tight and clean. The case is very handsome- but I think that it has been"tinkered" with over the years. I am sure that the brass handles(which look very American) ... moreare replac ements for leather handles- as you can see where the old stitching was. I also think that there were straps that ran from the bottom of the case- ac ross the top- which held the top secure. The leather handle is beautiful- in perfect condition. There are indications on the bottom of the piece that there probably some type of feet at each corner. King George V1 reig ned from 1937 to 1952 and was the father of the current Queen Eliza beth. This is a beautiful- and very uni que piece. This is a very large- and quite heavy piece and I am therefore not offering International shipping. Antique English Earthenware Inhaler With Original Mouthpiece Early 20th Century
This is a fantastic early earthenware inhaler manufactured by S. Maw. Son& Sons, Limited. Having done a bit of research on the manufacturer. This inhaler appears to date from 1918 to the 1920s. It is called"Improved Earthenware Inhaler" and has an address of Aldersgate St. London, England. The inhaler has the"directions for use" transfer printed on the backside and the truly amazing thing about this particular inhaler is that it has the original cork and blown glass mouthpiece. The inhaler measures about 9" high to the top of the mouthpiece and is 4-1/2" in diameter at he widest part of the base. The earthenware is in great condition with no chips or cracks or nicks. The glass end of the mouthpiece has a very small chip and there is a small crack in the glass where the it fits into the cork base(please see ... morephoto) A wonderful antique pharmaceutical piece to own!
