This auction is for a vintage water pump– the kind my grandma had at her sink in her kitchen. I believe the water came from the cistern. She also had a bigger pump outside from the well. It says Columbiana Pump Co. 2083. Columbiana Ohio USA on the top. On the base it says, Columbiana Pump Co. Columbiana Ohio 2085. The handle is 12” long to where it curves down. The height is 22” The base has a flat side on the same side where the water comes out and then 3 places to screw it down. The underneath has a pipe with threads to attach it. The center section looks like brass. The iron parts are red. But some of the paint is worn off. It is heavy and will be reflected in the shipping cost. I am near Buffalo. It could be picked up. Offered is a nice restored wall mount hand pump. It is signed on the handle- C J Hartley Co. Decatur ILL- Patd Nov 3 1908 450” There are several numbers on various parts of the pump: 450, 451, 452, 453, 455, 456, and 457. The pump is in excellent condition, no breaks, cracks, or chips. The cylinder, the lift rod, and all of the fittings connected to the cylinder are brass- the rest appear to be cast iron. The pump was sandblasted, had primer applied, painted, and top coated. I feel it has a great finish. In its present condition it is a decorative piece. The seals and gaskets were deteriorated and removed. The pump measures about 16 inches tall, 15 inches wide from spout to handle when the handle is down and 24 inches with the handle extended, and 8 inches across the wall mount side. Antique Vintage Deming Co Salem O Cast Iron Well Cistern Hand Pump For Display
This is for the antique vintage Deming Co Salem O cast iron well cistern hand pump pictured. I have added 12 pictures total with the last 2 showing the measurements. There are some broken and damaged areas on this pump and the worst are shown in the 8th. 9th, and 10th pictures. The 8th picture shows one of the ears on the handle mount is broken off so the handle is held in place by one ear only. It can be made to move up and down by not tightening the bolt all the way. The 9th picture shows a cut across the top of the spout. The 10th picture shows the bolts on the top cap that are broken or deteriorated. Because the bolts are broken the top cap is stuck in place and will not move. There are a couple of old layers of paint and rusty areas but I do think this would make a nice display piece. The Temple Pump Co. Cast Iron Well Cistern Hand Pump
This is for the Temple Pump Co well pump pictured. I have added 12 pictures total with the last 2 showing the measurements. I just recently acquired this item. When I get them one of the first things I like to do is to blast off as much of the old paint as I can so I can see all the flaws. What I found with this one was a number of welds up on the top. All of the welds look to be very strong. They were not done by me as I am not that good of a welder. There is an area by one of the tightening bolts that has a crack in it. Because of the crack care should be taken when assembling this item or it should be repaired. Even with the flaws I really liked the shape and design of this particular pump. Antique A. Y. McDonald Mfg Cast Iron Well Cistern Hand Pump
This is for the antique A. Y. McDonald Mfg cast iron well cistern hand pump pictured. I have added 12 pictures total which will show the measurements. This shows age. Use, and wear with lots of surface rust. There is a lot of surface rust with some small areas of original paint left. The handle moves up and down as it should but does have a lot of side to side play due to many years of use. The holes are somewhat out of round and some of the bolts are not original. One of the ears on the handle mount has recent weld on it but it appears to be a solid weld and it can be seen in the pictures. Given enough time this should turn rusty with the rest of the pump. This will be partially disassembled for a more cost-effective and safer shipping. Care should be taken when reassembling it as to not over tighten the bolts which could crack or break ... morethe cast iron. I have here a nice antique pump handle for auction. The only information I could find on it says BA 31 casted in. Thats all! Here are some dementions that I measured out. It is 31 inches from the fulcrum hole to the end of the handle. The total length is 36 1/4 inches. The bolt holes show a little oblong wear but not a lot. The slot where the pump rod attaches is 9/16" wide. Has never been broke or welded. Thats all I can think of. If you need more info, you will have to ask the question. Check my feedback for honest descriptions, and careful packing. This is an auction, not a buy-it-now. Bid what its worth to you, and the high bidder gets it. Auctions are fun!
