This volume examines these ubiquitous and important artifacts by first considering the unique biology and behavior of the scarab beetle and its incorporation into Egyptian symbolism, religion and art. The development of the scarab amulet is then considered, and the many types of scarab produced by the Egyptians are surveyed. Harmony Herald Bugle with mouthpiece 48 inches long 4 1/4" bell
Here is a old"vintage" bugle in the shape of a Herald Bugle. It was made by Harmony It is 48 inches long. Plus the mouthpiece. The bell has a nice ridge bell that is 4 1/4 inches in diameter. The mouthpiece is a no name bugle mouthpiece that fits nicely into the end. There is no joint. Just a seam where the copper meets the brass(that's what I think the combination of the two metals are) There are no valves. No tuning, just need a good set of chops to play this unique old bugle. There are no hooks or ringlets that would have held a banner like in the movies. It has some nice engraving on the bell. I'll pack it in two circular tubes. And then into a long cardboard box. The horn is light. But the packing will be most of the weight as this is one horn we don't want bent. I'd prefer going with Priority as it gets better ... moretreatment that Parcel Post, even though it will be a couple more dollars shipping. I can combine it with the other Herald bugle I'm listing this same week and pack both into one box. That would save a bunch of shipping costs.

CUT GLASS CANDY DISH 6 1/4 INCHES WIDE SPARKLES BRIGHT
This is a beautiful cut glass candy dish. This is 6 1/8 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches high. This features a 10 point star in the center and radiates out to fans and shields to well cut teeth. This delightful dish does have some condition problems. There are four teeth that have problems, and there is wear on th bottom. Even though it has bad teeth there is not many of those tiny little chips. I tried to photograph the bad teeth and I have the worst ones posted. This is a very nice dish despite some flaws. These things are from my late mother’s antique shop and estate. I don’t know the origin of most of these things but most likely from estate sales and auctions and things she bought for shows and from her many antiquing friends. The previous owner indicated that she found this piece in the attic of the building and that it was likely left by her parents. Who were alive in the 1800’s. I cannot verify the date of this piece, but it is old and heavy, with a worn, used look. Weigh’s a little over 4 pounds and stands 5 inches tall, 5 inches wide at the top, with an 8 ½ inch pestle. I have seen many brass mortar pestle combo’s with two handles, this is the only one I have seen with one. Condition Piece is in great shape.
