Antique Small Victorian Bird Cage Birdcage Wire & Hand Carved Wood (Rare!)
Very cool antique wire and wood bird cage in overall good condition. I found this treasure at a local flea market/antiques shop. It had already had some paint on it. A half-hearted attempt, but I did not notice any rust(surprising, since I'm certain it had spent some portion of its life hung outside) I carefully cleaned it up and hand-painted it with a number of coats of chalk paint and finished with clear and dark waxes for a shabby look. While the side door does open. The tension wire on it is a little stiff, so if you want to open it wider, that can be adjusted by hand. The bottom tray does slide out, hindered more by my paint than anything else. Up for sale. A rare antique Wooden Carved Stirrup from Chile. The metal strap shows excellent inlay on the right side, very nice detail work. Hard to come by with the inlay. This one has a rounded square front end. The stirrup measures about 9-1/2" long x 8" tall. Background: This type of wood stirrups were used by the Chilean working Cowboys known as Huaso. Some of these stirrups date back to the Colonial times. Condition: There is some wood splitting-cracking. More so on the top of the stirrup. There are areas where pieces of the wood have broken off, most noticeably on the back side base and three small areas on the front face. Though still a solid beautiful piece. Antique 19th Century Guangong Statue, Hand Carved Wood and Gesso, Foo Dogs
In good condition except for some a small amount of gesso and lacquer loss. It also needs replacement of hair in left mustach. Chin and hair lock holes. It is 13 inches tall and very detailed as you can see. This is not a replica out of China. This is probably overpriced, but I put a higher price on things I like and I really like this one. Guangong is a God in oriental religions, but he was an actual historic figure in the third century, admired for his military prowess and loyalty. This is the only one I have seen with foo dogs on the base and was made by a superior artist.

Beautifully carved Victorian Wood Perfumer. I believe these were attached to the underskirts of a lady and would contain perfumed potpourri or similar. It is rare to find one surviving in such nice condition. Completely intact. The holder is constructed from three pieces. Just sits together quite neatly. With metal chain, copper wire and old iron pins. There is a grain fault under the base. It is not a crack. Height is 15 cm from base to chain ring. Diameter is 5.2 cm. Ex-Queensland collection. Ladies Antique Silk Parasol/Umbrella with Carved Wood Greyhound Head Handle
A ladies antique navy blue silk parasol/umbrella with a carved wooden handle in the shape of a greyhound head with a gilt metal collar. Very nicely carved and in very good condition. The silk cover has been hand stitched and is in good condition for its age but there are 3 tiny pinprick holes(please see photo no 5) and a section about 4" long has come unstitched which can easily be repaired. The is a ruffle of silk 7" down the handle. Measures 38" in length and has a spread of 44" The head handle measures 2" from the tip of its nose to the back of its head and is 3/4" wide with glass eyes. All the 8 spoke mechanism is in good working order. Up for resale as original purchaser did not pay.

Antique Bone Letter Opener Carved Signed 19th Century
Up for sale is a bone letter opener/page turner. I am no expert. But in the research I've found this to be similar to items from the mid 19th century. It measures 15" in length, and 1.25" in width. Rounded handle end is 1/2" thick tapering to about 1/8" at tip. On one side it's carved with an ornate"N" inside an oval, and on the other side it's signed"C_quot" Quite hefty and in beautiful condition. My father was born in Manhattan in 1895 and this was among his things. Thanks for looking.

Antique 19th C Ebony & Hand Carved Cow Bone Dominoes Set of 28 Wood Box Handmade
Here we have a really beautiful 19th Century hand carved ebony& bone full 28 piece set of dominoes with wood box. Each handmade domino has a wonderful time aged patina and this set is from the 1880-1890 period possibly earlier. These two-piece dominoes are constructed of ebony& cow bone and each is fastened together with three brass pins. They were hand-carved. The pins were placed diagonal across each domino and the pins are flush to the surface. There and nice scribe marks across each piece and the numerals are highlighted in black. Each one measures between 45- 46mm(1 3/4" 1 13/16" tall and they are approximately 22mm or 7/8" wide. They are approximately 9mm or 5/16" thick and each weighs between 12& 13 grams. There are some tiny chips to the bone and ebony from use over time but no major chips of breaks. ... moreBeing handmade there are a few offset numeral carvings and each domino is not completely uniform or exactly the same size. The box is dovetailed at the corners and there is a hand carved tab impression on the lid for thumb sliding. This box most likely is a replacement as there is a little room in the box with dominoes in place. The lid is not correct as it is too skinny for the grooves although it all works together for a very nice display. The box has a nice patina with wear. Light scuffing and remnants of a label on the bottom. This is beautiful 19th C hand carved ebony& bone 28 piece set of dominoes a nd will make a wonderful addition to any collection. Showing that mothers back in the early 1800's taught their children much the same way as we still do today. I can just see a few children sitting around a teacher and struggling to learn their alphabet. This set of bone letters consist of the complete alphabet. With letters A through Z being in this set. They all measure approximately 2cm ... morehigh. There are 5 that have been dyed green and 2 that have been dyed red. They are absolutely perfect with the exception of a tiny piece of the tail on the Q has been broken off. You can still easily tell it's a Q though, so please check the photo's. The I and S are thinner and slightly smaller. As none of them the exact same size this doesn't detract in any way from the set and is mentioned for accuracy one. My grandmother had a note in the box with these that said they were from 1800 or before. I'm sorry to not be able to get any closer. With something like this I'm sure you can see why it's remarkable to even be able to get this much information. It was my grandparents habit to label everything and I'm sure thankful now! These item's were in my grandparents estate. Which consist's of many sewing item's, all from France, which came to American by way of my great grandparents. Though of course this piece isn't a sewing related item, it was mixed into my grandmothers sewing pieces.
