1 VINTAGE ANTIQUE IRON SPRING SLIDE DEADBOLT DOOR LOCK LATCH WITH CHAIN
You are bidding on 1(one) VINTAGE ANTIQUE IRON SPRING SLIDE DEADBOLT DOOR LOCK LATCH. It is a nice early piece but I do not know how old they are. I’ll let you be the judge. It is magnetic including the chains. There doesn’t appear to be any markings. The mounting base plate measures approximately 4 15/16” long and 2 3/16” wide. The chain measures approximately 37 1/4” which includes the loop at the end. It has 4 mounting holes. It is made of a heavy construction and is in operational condition. A strong spring action opens and closes it nicely. It shows the usual ware with some missing paint and some oily surface rust thru out. It appears to have no cracks or breaks. I’ll leave the cleaning and restoration to the professionals. Personally I think it has nice character the way it is. This may be the one you have been looking for to complete ... morethat restoration project or they could make an excellent addition to anyone’s collection. The door knobs are the same size about 2 1/4" round but the backplates are one large measuring 11" x 3" and the key hole area is dented on it. Finish has discoloration and corrosion spotting on handles from age that we tried to show in photos. Comes with installation instructions, 6 mounting screws, escutcheon, and striker plate. We think this was made to work on wooden doors. But think it would work on metal or aluminum if you used different screws. Has a twist lock mechanism so door cannot be opened if desired. I have a nice lot of antique wrought iron and pressed/peened slide locks for your consideration. There are 3 matching slides that measure 3 1/2 x 1 1/8 inches. These look to be unused and in nice reusable condition where the slides move freely. Nice lot for any furniture. Cabinet or door application. There are no catches however you should be able to fabricate a custom strike plate quite easily for your project. Slide bolts are roughly a 1/4 inch square manufacture. I threw in some antique brass standard slot screws that you might be able to use. 18 of them. Nice hard to find lot for your repair, replace, or vintage renovation. I have a nice old icebox latch with matching catch and hinges for your consideration. These have seen years of service but are in reusable condition. The hinge pins are in decent condition for reuse. The hinges and latch are a pressed brass and the catch is cast brass. Finish is a little shabby where the silver chrome has some blemishes. Wear, and scuffing consistent with there age. Some old paint as well. These appear to be a 1/4 inch offset, Hinges, as well as the latch and catch combination, so they can be used together. Chest Trunk Latch Set Vintage NOS Hardware
I recently acquired several large boxes of vintage hardware from a Simmons Hardware in McComb Ohio. Alot of these items are in a marked boxes and have hand writing on the from the old school fountain pens or even quill pens.not real sure. These items were never used and some of them have patent dates from the 1800's. Many pieces are not marked on the item itself at all. Even though these items are N.O.S. some of thes still have patina and some even have some rust from over 100 years of humidity etc. There is so much stuff I do not have the time to clean all of it so a lot of the items will be as found.
