The rim lock, handle, keep and escutcheon ... moreare in good condition and in working order. The rim lock is of forged steel and is of an oblong shape. With applied brass detail. There is a shield shaped brass disk which reads SOMMERFIELDS PATENT JOHN WALKER& WORSLY 14 EDMUND ST. BIRMINGHAM. John Walker and Henry Baxter Worsly were manufacturing locks in Birmingham until their company was dissolved in 1894. There is an unusual gravity operated latch mechanism, and a spring loaded deadbolt action(please see photograph) I do not have the key for this lock, however a good locksmith should be able to cut one if needed. I have polished up the show brass retaining it aged appearance. The brass knobs date from about the same period and have some knocks in them. But these do not notice that much. One of the brass knobs is permanently secured to the steel spindle, and the other knob fit on to the other end of the spindle and is secured with a grub screw. The original forged steel keep has decorative applied brass detail and the later brass escutcheon compliments the lock well. The lock measures approximately 115 mm(4 1/2" high. And 160 mm(6 1/4" wide. The center of the handle spindle to the outside of the lock measures 115 mm(4 1/2" The keep measures approximately 114 mm(4 1/4" high. And 33 mm(1 2/8" wide. You are bidding on one Accura Series VII or Series 7 metal lens hood or shade as pictured. It is marked"ACCURA SERIES VII" and"JAPAN" It has male Series 7 threads on the camera end that are compatible with Kodak or Tiffen Series 5 threads. Outside width at the open end is about 77mm. And length not including the male threads is about 46mm. It has the lock ring as shown in the 3rd picture, which allows you to lock the hood in any orientation, typically square to the camera. It has a small lip that will act as the retaining ring for a Series 7 filter(filter not included in this listing! Condition of the hood is good. With a variety of minor scratches and scuffs, and some very light patina or tarnish on the silver colored part right where it meets the black hood, as shown in the last picture. If you are unfamiliar with Series ... moreparts and pieces. They are a system of standard sized filters which need an adapter to mount them to a camera. Each Series number denotes a particular size. For example, all Series V filters are the same size, so once you have a Series V adapter for your particular lens, you can then put any Series V filter into that adapter.
