VINTAGE SPRING LOADED PULL DOWN DOOR LATCH/LOCK CAST IRON (2)
This is a set of vintage cast iron pull spring door lock/latches. They measure about 34 1/2" from the end of the pull ring to the end of the latch itself. The latch part is about 3" wide. Condition is vintage used/poor in my opinion because of rust. The spring action seems to work fine and there are no cracks or breaks. They definitely need a good cleaning and probably a paint job. BARN FARM VINTAGE DOOR OR GATE HASP LATCH
Old farm estate find. This auction is for a barn door or gate hasp latch. Only what is pictured is included. It normally would have had a U- shaped that would go into the slot on the hasp w and then the rotating"T" hook would drop down to secure it. At the time of finding, the previous owners had just gone primitive and hade made a"U" bracket by bending a large nail. Hey, it worked. The slot is 1 5/8" long and 5/6" wide. The hasp was mounted to the door using one lag bolt in the 1/2" hole at the other end. Hasp is 8" x 1" There is some white paint on the hasp and minor rust but it is fully functional and should last another 100 years. Weight is 3.8oz. Vintage Brass- door handle latch-with Brass plate- Ornate Surface is grungy. Has tarnish and patina, only the two screws visible on the back in whole assembly are magnetic. The latch piece coming through the plat is bent, not sure if it is cut short too. The backer plate measures about 6 1/8 inches from tip to tip. The backer plate is about 1 3/4 inches wide(tapering very slightly so it is a hair wider on the bottom/key hole end) and the width of the latch handle-looks like a door knocker- is 2 1/4 inches. Made in NYC by the Cheshill Co. the only thing I could find on the net on this company is patent fraud in 1941 against their mfg chain lock patents. So am Seriously thinking there were not many of these made. I have spent quite alot of time searching for this and was not able to find one quite like this or made by this company. The other marking on the one piece is the patent number"1,700,000" The other pieces are not marked however they came out of the same box from an estate sale. I have an unusual pressed or stamped. Nickel plated steel lot of 8 old door latches for your consideration. These could be in nice reusable condition with a little cleaning and lube. All the springs seem to be intact and work. A little sticky on a couple. I am uncertain of there age although my guess would have been from a wooden built in cabinet or cupboard door from the late 20's early 30's. They have a deco pattern on handles. Nicely, these appear to have had a flush strikeplate application so you will be able to find something that would work more easily. Might be a nice addition for a reworked piece of furniture or cabinet/cupboard door. measure 1 7/16 inches from ctr to ctr of mounting screw holes. Hand Forged Blacksmith Gate Latch Door Handle Set Rustic Antique Vintage Look
This is a nice set of gate or door hardware. Includes a handle which measures 7" long. A latch measuring 5" and two staples which are approximately 1" x 2.25" All pieces were hand forged in a blacksmith shop on our farm using antique methods; a coal fire, an anvil and hammers and other hand tools, just as these pieces would have been made a century or more ago. Will add a rustic touch anywhere they are used. The staples are used with the latch- one in the round end to secure it. The other on the other side of door/gate for the hooked end. We recommend pre-drilling holes for these when installing.

Nice old painted iron latch weighing about 13 oz. Paint is chipped with minor rust and dirt. The spring is still good and it works fine. The button I think is supposed to hold latch inside housing but that doesn't seem to work. The latch body is about 5 inches in length. Screws not included. Thanks for looking. Both latches function perfectly on a well made spring, and original screws are included. Paint is of course removable and has perhaps preserved the metal underneath nicely- I see some darkening on metal that shows, but no rust or corrosion. Each latch measures 1 1/2" long(tall) And screw holes are 1 1/8" apart(measured from mid-point of hole opening. These are getting very hard to find. Antique surface rim lock vintage door hardware lockset cast iron catch & latch
I have a nice old reusable cast iron rim lock for your consideration. Could use a cleaning and lube with the removal of a single standard slot set screw. Driverod gear spring is strong and works latch. Locking lever for drive gear latch engages and disengages nicely. There is no skeleton key for deadbolt slide so you will have to use without it until one is either found or made. This is a heavier good quality box measuring 3 1/8 x 3 3/4 inches. Pair of early red clay black glazed doorknobs. A 1/4 inch driverod, cast iron rosette, cast iron keyhole trim cover for obverse side of lock, catch and some set screws for knobs are included.
